For an extra £50 there is also the same model with 128GB SSD. Great deals!

This is expensive for an i5 laptop with a small screen

You just bought a MacBook from Dave W on Gumtree, It is second hand, But you don't care because he made sure the MacBook.......

is fully tested (including full burn-in testing).
is refurbished with replacement parts for any defective modules identified in testing.
is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection.
is repackaged (including appropriate manuals, cables, etc.).
includes the operating software originally shipped with the unit and the custom software offered with that system. See each products "Learn More" for more details.
is given a new refurbished part number and serial number.
is placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to sellable refurbished stock.
is repacked in special packaging (including appropriate manuals, cables, etc. that originally shipped with the unit).

Very minor difference (_;)

sugarcoat it as much as you want....if it's not brand new...then it's secondhand.

100% NONSENSE, they give it a quick lookover then sell it,

do you think the mark up from 2nd hand to refurbished allows then to spend10s of hours trying to test ?

I assume with that knowledge you are an Apple employee?

Macs are a ripoff only idiots buy them.

I've got a ripoff Mac - gets me in a lot of trouble

cold not a moto g

Good price - maybe secondhand/refurbished, but it will have a one year Apple warranty with the option of buying an Applecare 3 year extended warranty. If you need extra storage above the 128Gb you'll need a USB drive there is no physical SSD to upgrade as such....
Hot from me - it is a great deal for a MacBook Air, whether or not you are an Apple fan.

100% NONSENSE

Can the hard drive be upgraded and where do you get them.?

Amazing price and direct from Apple means it will be excellent condition. Great find op.

Best "laptop" on the planet. I bought the 15.4" Retina last year. The build quality is light years better than any Windows lappy!

bought a 13" macbook air 2 years ago and love it. spend the extra £50 on the bigger SSD. you'll reget not doing it at that price.

Idiots get worked up of other people's purchases

Bought a few Apple refurbs in the past - *always* as good as buying brand new. £550 for the 128GB model is a very good deal.

they arent a standard fit, but it can be done. You need to be comfortable taking the laptop apart though as it isn't under a hatch like most laptops do it,

not really worth it
double the storage for 175 quid

mac-upgrade.co.uk/col…240

I would just get a fast 128gb pendrive if you wanted to keep it minimal as external hdds are ok but it compromises the portability a little.

Great price for MacBook Air and you know it will be as new and last for years.

Fish2013 - this is a windows lappy if you want it to be...

Non sexy but is important...

Bull..... Alienware for gaming...encoding ...and everything else.... Expensive tho, you'd best stick to Macs.

tThe likelyhood is that these are all brand new....Apple just can't bring themselves to admit they need to shift a load of unsold goods.

Having purchased refurb Apple gear in the past. With the exception of non-retail packaging they look brand new.
If you consider the average portable device picks up scratches and dings. Either all refurb products are returns from OCD bubble wrap fetishists or they replace the cases during the refurb process.

Also when Apple replaces their products each year, Apple stores no longer stock the old model, they get recalled. You can pretty much guarantee that they just resell them as refurbished, so brand new in a different box.

Only thing stopping me buying one is screen res. would much prefer full HD, despite the screen size. Don't even know if the newer ones do either but hats my buying point and this price

I have to say, I was always impressed with apple refurbs.

Oh there are some delusional donkeys about. Macs are far superior to Pc's. Best thing I ever bought. No stupid updates every 2 minutes. No Viruses. No grief. If you really want windows you can Bootcamp your hard drive & load it. Best of both worlds. So stick that in your pipe Maxp!! lol

ordered thank you - great find - 128gb OOS at present - the price for a refub (which has the same 12 month warranty as new) is cheaper than the used prices on eBay.... If you don't like the product fair enough, but some of the logic in these posts is a bit whack...

Shame the 128GB is out of stock. Cracking machine but with 64GB it's barely more than a net surfing machine. Might as well get an iPad.

Agree with that. I bought a refurb iPad and it was as new apart from the box and its special serial number to indicate refurb. The mains plug had no marks on it as though it had ever been plugged in. I assumed it was their way of discounting without really discounting, almost as though they divert a certain proportion of them from the production line to be refurbs from square one. I can't believe they would take one back, replace anything that may have been scratched, blow a new serial number in it, put it in a different box and sell it for a lesser price - if it's practically new they could just sell it as new having gone through all that. I would think genuine returns that are 'used' are sold through somewhere you'd never know they were apple returns.
