the above posted pic shows it with a lid mounted camera, but the pics on the sites don't show this, anyone know which is correct?

I doubt this model has a inbuilt cam.

That was the nicest pic of that model I could find quickly.

i have a 5
633 and it has a cam

cheers.....ordered one before seeing this.. and used dixons.

only used a £10 code.... but delivery is a quid cheaper,,,, used quidco AND used my egg card that gives an instant 7% off

AND sold out

wonder if they messed up on the 1st listing they did? wonder if I'll get this one?

I ordered a laptop off their site last Sunday, it sat processing for a week and then this Sunday they cancelled the order as it was out of stock.
Hopefully you will get yours though.

The Dell Vostro's are a good buy. Good spec machine with 5hrs battery life is £363.00 inc. delivery.

Acer dont seem to be built as strong as the Dells, IBMs or Toshiba's. adding another £50 - £100 could get you a nice laptop.

Maybe wait until Thursday and mikeT may find a Dell bargain!

Its ok

But £30 more (less cashback) would have got you core 2 and bigger HD

link plz? ta

I have one of these from work - its very nice.

Mine has a camera, by the way (not that its brilliant - though does have face tracking).

I ordered this one today .. started off buying a £320 machine from Currys clearance .. they cancelled it so I convinced myself I needed a better spec machine so was already to blow £550 on a T7100 Acer .. then I saw this.
comet.co.uk/com…ion

It was hard convincing myself that I needed it but I managed in the end

Anyway, it's Currys fault as they cancelled my first order. :-D

Just hoping Mike doesn't come up with some stupidly impressive deal in 2 days time.

This is the model that I bought a few weeks ago.
Good laptop. Feels a bit flimsier than dells.
But the battery is poor, dont expect more than 90mins tops.

What the hell are you doing on it? Playing games on the battery or something?

I have used mine for hours on the battery. (Web dev).

Any comments on this particular Acer AS5633 laptop as I was thinking of ordering one at the current price of £330 (with Quidco and 10% discount code)? Bad and good comments appreciated. Thanks

P.S. Can anyone actually confirm that this particular laptop comes with 120 GB HDD as opposed to 80 GB. According to the Acer website, there is no 80 GB version in this range?!?!

anyone?

The range has been updated. I would imagine you are looking at the older 80gb version. We paid £430 for this, but not as a refurb..and I thought that was great value.
Its a core 2 duo, you cant really go wrong.
And no, I have only used the battery for surfing etc. At full power, its already saying only 80mins left on the battery.

If you have a low budget, you definitely wont get better... and if you do, then you have done amazingly well.
