I genuinely don't like posting laptop deals (normally) but this seems like a decent price for a "AS NEW" 14" laptop with a 1 year warranty.

eBay deal of the day, specs are:

Windows 8.1 operating system with
14" display
Laptop has a 500GB hard drive
2GB RAM
Intel® Celeron® processor
up to 7hr battery life

Good for a light use laptop? You tell me.

Seems reasonable for the price and then a complete bargain for the camera alone:

Front-Facing Camera Resolution 1280MP X)

Good reviews on Tesco but suggest upgrading the 2GB Ram to speed things up a bit.

Looks very good.

I have this great laptop paid lot more than that though but mine is 2 years old now heat added

Wow! You could see the hairs on a gnats @ss with that! Bargain!

Only one ram slot on this and supports 8GB, should be around £30.

Luzerntech are geographically difficult to pinpoint as they're all over Europe.
The location of this item says its in Germany, 3-4 day delivery. The returns should be shipped back to Poland, but the contact address is in Dublin, Ireland. They have contact numbers for UK, Ireland & EU though.
They're a legit and reliable company though so dont let that put you off.
Any guesses if this comes with EU or UK plugs?
Any duty/ taxes due on it this end or already paid?
Is the RAM upgradeable or at its max?

Stick an 8GB module in this for about £40 and its a decent basic laptop for the price

specs seem a bit naff to me. i know its 99 quid but its second hand.

It's already in Europe so no duties or taxes due. That's one benefit an "out" vote could ruin!

Arghh, I am very tempted to get one of these purely for Console streaming, you can upgrade the memory, HDD and Network card..

Put 8GB, an SSD and a Decent AC Wireless card.. question is the screen quality?

Just noticed thay also do a Grade B version yet its £18 more??.
Do you think they've made a mistake and we'll end up with grade B , not A, but with the added cost of sending back to Poland for a refund?

Was considering getting this but all these comments are putting me off and definitely don't fancy posting back to Poland. Needed a spare laptop to install Kali Linux OS rather than using the virtual player but i will pass on this one.

Anyone know where to get suitable 8gb RAM upgrade module from, please?
Not being lazy, just cant find out specs of the correct memory type. Dont want to add £30 to the bill to find out its the wrong type. Any help appreciated, thanks.

This should be the one uk.crucial.com/gbr…411 . Note you have to take off the bottom cover to access the ram slot, so around 17 screws!

Great, thanks for the info! Pain to replace as I've always had laptops with a simple one screw cover to replace, but for the price, worth a go.

I've seen this company selling the Asus X205TA grade A, for less than £80. Never more than 2 or 3 at a time so never been worth posting but they pop up now and again so worth keeping your eye out.

Pretty good for a mobile Dev machine. Stick a bit more RAM in, upgrade Windows to 10, curse because Windows 10 upgrade is hanging, go away and make a cup of tea, watch a couple of episodes of Breaking Bad, come back to the same 'Windows is preparing for install' screen, go postal and stamp on the Laptop, smile to yourself and feel content about £99.99 well spent.

nice laptop but anyone come across one with a bigger screen?

Hi, is this capable of watching the 4k context on youtube please? My Lenovo stick appears to struggle. Thanks

You need a dedicated graphics card for 4k video most likely, even my 2G Radeon R7 270x struggled with 4k

If you are using chrome 4k is always going to suck as google forces you to use a vp9 version of the video.

Try ie/edge or firefox and see what happens.

Do you mean physically bigger (screen physically gets larger like a TV) , e.g. 15", 17" etc, or resolution bigger (screen same size but fits more pixels in so you can show more info it) e.g. 1920x1080?

Do you think this would be good for a year 7 student for a few years? main purpose homework, Web based games, watching footy on bt sport, sky , YouTube etc?

physically bigger. got a 11'' laptop at the moment. just want a larger screen for the kids so they don't end up squinting trying to use the laptop. will only be used for browsing, Microsoft Office, iplayer/kodi/youtube etc. not for gaming. so doesn't need to be super powerful but nothing that's going to drag.

budget of £150...I know, a right impossible task X)

I've zero idea about laptops but would this fit the bill if looking for a cheap one to use iTunes, internet browse and watch the odd dodgy football stream?

depends, they might run out

thx op, just bought one.

for those who bought 2, what special price did you get them for?

I'm sure its legit and stuff but theres some strange addresses going on. It states the item is located in Germany, the business seller information states Dublin but has a return address in Poland!

Good find OP. I've had a good experience, prob luck with my last laptop which was refurbished grade A and looked brand new so I'm taking a punt with this.

I've notice another listing but this time grade C for the same price.

May the best man get the 'AS NEW' one.

Looking a hefty jump in price to touch screen and specs are usually a bit higher, so something refurbed like this might be ok.

I doubt you'd get a half decent machine any bigger than 15" screen for that price, so not much in it. Have you thought of hooking the 11" laptop to a bigger monitor like a 24+" (assuming the resolution and connections on the 11" will support that)?
Not ideal, I know, but for that budget might be an option.
Try ebuyer or similar. Often have daily deals on monitors of that sort of size.

who is the warranty with? Acer?

Is the N2840 and 2GB RAM not going to struggle on even day to day tasks, even chrome?

N2840 is weak at the bottom range of CPU as bad as A4, it may only be stronger than Atom. It has less than 2/3 of power of my 7 years old retired duo core.

I am not a CPU person. I think i3, A8, stronger Celeron or Pentium are enough for day to day task. But this N2840 (as well as N2830) is one of the weakest Celeron still on sale.

I do think the laptop will struggle even with day-to-day tasks sometimes if not all the time.

You would be much better to pay £200/190 for a refurbished i3 or similar, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD with 12 months warranty.
