This is a cracking laptop (refurb) - A10 processor, 8gb ram and 1tb hard drive, Tesco outlet accepted my £165 offer automatically. Performance around the 4th gen core i3. Graphics between the Intel HD4400 and an 820m - nothing amazing but it will run you Minecraft and Sims just fine.
Bought one for me quick as I could. Get in there!

You should really put somewhere that it's refurbished.

Ed has added it to title (ty mod) and I've added it to first sentence. Ty.

I am looking for a new laptop and was initially tempted to go for this, but I hesitated long enough to go and read a few reviews.

That's odd, it's working for me.

My mother got acer a10 i believe. She complained to me about a few issues with it. Keypad, and it spinning allot. I got to admit i didn't investigate it like that. But I wasnt sure if it was due to the architecture of the chip design, or soft related, that doesn't like amd instruction set. Anyone else had any issues?

At £430 I wouldn't touch it. At £165 for price vs performance ? Read the review then look at the original price then look at what else you can get for the money. I've been looking for a new laptop for a week or so and this is by far the best I've found that allows me to game at a low level (very low level!) and be portable, get 8gb of Ram a terabyte of hard disk space and get change from £170 with the peace of mind of a 12 month warranty! Honestly, I really don't understand what it takes to constitute a bargain on here sometimes!

2nd hand stuff doesn't tend to go well. And I, for one, prefer to have only my own nose hairs and boogers trapped in my laptop's keyboard

And that ladies & Gents is the voice of reason.
I think your comment sums up what this site is all about.
Good on you Prof

Sorry but I dislike cheap Acers. Along with cheap Toshibas. But all cheap laptops are a lottery I guess. Especially Acers. Not voted.

It's not 2nd hand as you say. It's a refurb, which means it has been refurbish.
Generally these are faulty units, which have been repaired.

Ty expired. Not that anyone was checking anyway. I'm really pleased with mine - it's super quick and upgraded to Windows 10 no problem, seems brand new and runs runescape next gen client and mine craft with no problems. Sad how people miss out on deals like this due to pre-conceptions. Thanks for letting me know.
