Probably just about worth £40 for an 8" screen. Screen is a bit horrible, performance quite laggy & very limited options for custom ROMs. Has a custom charger socket which is prone to breaking. Spend a bit more on a better tablet if you can afford it, otherwise not too bad for the money.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Definitely worth spending the extra on a Nexus 7 2012. They can probably be found for around £70 on refurb.

deals like this confuse me, its a good price for a bad product, is that hot or cold?

What happens if your budget is £40 ?

Strongly advise against buying this. You'll just tear your hair out.

Buy it & if you hate it or it breaks then you've only wasted £40 :-)

Avoid all Archos products, if it breaks the CS at Archos is rubbish and forget about software updates its been stuck on stock 4.0.4 since release, there has been a couple of ROMs that have had bloatware removed and a port of Cyanogenmod but parts of it do not work. Save your money.

I bought one when they first came out for not much more (Boxing Day Deal)...

I probably used it about 10 times in the last year, due to it's crap screen and other minor annoyances.

Luckily I was able to sell it for £45 a couple of months back!

don't by archos... they are scrap

I can't get mine to stay on for longer than 30 minutes.

don't do it I bought 3 when they were 40 brand new on boxing day 2013 I have already binned them both cheap crap not worth the money

Try and save a little more for something vastly superior. I've owned both and I think if you buy this you will regret it.

I also got one (in fact 3) on the boxing day deal. All have since been sold as we all found them slow and cumbersome with a poor screen, also quite heavy with mediocre battery life (can't remember times - sorry). £40 still worth a go for anyone looking for first tablet but if you have used an Ipad or similar spec Android device don't expect this to come close. I have NOT voted this cold because the price is good, but product not great. I now have an Acer A1-830 which is an Android device that gives the Ipad mini a good run for its money and I love it. Costs a lot more (£129), but in my opinion, worth it.
