disaster of a laptop. throttled by bad thermal design.

Spot on! Throttle issues, ASUS sent away for repair. New Thermal Assembly and STILL it kept throttling...

AVOID!

ASUS should recall these faulty laptops

Lol no, you won't, nowhere near. I'd avoid any FX504 chassis, they're awful. Not sure why they keep getting posted, the issue with throttling is widespread.

Look for something 3x the price for VR
You'd want the GL503/4 laptops.

Is the dell g3 worth considering?

Yeah compared to this night and day, I personally went a bit more and got an MSI Raider! Fantastic laptop, IMO better to pay a bit more for a laptop that can actually perform like it should and look good too!
I5-8300H & GTX1050 for £524.99....and it's refurbished?? Rip-Off Britain at it's finest!
Glad some people dislike this laptop. I snapped this on ebay for £600, but mine has m.2 SSD in addition to 1TB, 120Hz screen and a 6GB GTX 1060. With an undervolted CPU these have no throttling and no thermal issues, while remaining some of the slimmest and lightest models out there. Brilliant laptop!
Dont know about this graphics card in particular but have this laptop, and very impressed with it. Recommended
