Looks pretty decent if they honour their pre-order condition!

Ever since I got my first mechanical keyboard, I've been addicted, they're so fantastic and last forever. This model was the top of the range a few years back.

This board (from what I've seen) is mainly aimed at MMO gamers, but really could be used by anyone.

Bear in mind this a full size keyboard with macro keys, making this a large keyboard the dimensions (provided by powerbrick) are Length = 495mm, Width = 215mm.

Couple features:

Cherry MX Red mechanical key switches
Cherry® MX Red key switches are the best of the best — they provide the sensitivity and low operating force that professional gamers love. Reaction times are ultra-fast and responsive for quicker double and triple taps. The action is predictable and linear unlike lesser gaming keyboards that have a tactile bump or the annoying click of a typist’s keyboard.

18 dedicated, customizable G-Keys
Easily access to your most frequently used macros, presets and key combinations even during the most intense action. You can record up to 54 programmable functions accessible from three separate banks, ideal for grouping macros by function, or access. Macros can be created on-the-fly, customized, and activated with a single keystroke.

Full key matrix anti-ghosting
Our expertly designed anti-ghosting technology provides flawless control even when you're pressing multiple keys at once. The K90 has individual switches with dedicated diodes for each switch so every key press results in an input and is 100% ghost free without tradeoff or compromise.

Full key rollover on USB
Typical USB gaming keyboards are limited to the USB standard six-key rollover. The K90 features increased performance with a 20-key rollover implementation on USB at a blazing fast 1ms (1000 reports per second) reporting rate.

Professional grade brushed aluminum chassis with laser etched, backlit keys
The rugged aluminum chassis provides increased durability and stability compared those that are primarily plastic. The stiff suspension chassis and the laser etched keys are made for durability so they won't degrade over time. And the K90 has over 90 LEDs that provide outstanding illumination even in dim light.

Vengeance gaming keyboard software
Create up to 50 profiles and share, import and export macros with the Vengeance keyboard gaming software. It's a free download at corsair.com.

On-board memory lets you take it with you
36Kb of memory built into the K90 lets you take your customizations and profiles with you and use them on any system.

Easy access multimedia controls
Control all of your music with the easy access media controls.

USB pass-through
A USB port on the back of the Vengeance K90 gaming keyboard makes connecting your mouse or other USB devices a simple task.

Soft-touch wrist rest
The soft-touch wrist rest helps you play for hours without fatigue.

Hope this helps someone!

EDIT: If you're a member of AVforums it's possible to get free delivery on orders of over £50 exc VAT. Although this doesn't make it cheaper, it may be extremely relative if you're after a cable/SD Card/USB stick. Thanks to coerce86

Added dimensions to OP, cheers mate.

Lovely stuff. Don't need one, but can't refuse at this price. Ordered. Have some heat.

Only paid £49.99, Scan free delivery from Hexus forums for the win

Thanks OP!

Remember this isn't fully mechanical but still a great price!

Would be on this like a shot if it had MX Brown keys

Very tempted by this

to be fair the switches are mechanical where you need it. It's just the func, esc and macro keys that aren't!

Had this keyboard for couple of years now and I absolutely love it. Beautifully engineered and the blue backlight is very eye-catching. The keys are very responsive to any pressure (which takes some getting used to). The Cherry MX Red switches are very smooth though you don't get much feedback from them other then them bottoming out on the keyboard so it can be quite loud if you haven't used a mechanical keyboard before.

Oh and the wrist rest makes me wish all keyboards had one =)

Oh, FFS, stop posting things I'm talking myself into needing!

Just bought a zalman zm-k500 for £33 from cpc. If this had been around earlier, and I'd known about the hexus free delivery, then I would of snapped it up.

Really want it just for the brushed aluminium scroll wheel...

Remember to untick the SCAN protection thing, got busted by that a couple of times and had to ring to get it cancelled, not that I'm buying one of these keyboards that look really cool and useful...

Oh god. Should I do it? This is an incredible price. I don't even think my desk is big enough but I might order the bloody thing anyway?!

If only this was the anodised black one with cherry mx reds (K70)

How? The ex. VAT order price has to be over £49.99 which it's not?

beware dying LEDs

Scan and refurbished, two words you never want to see in the same sentence.

HEAT, Thanks i was going to buy it full priced a few weeks ago, so glad i held off.

I bought this last year for a similar price, some of the keys were sticky.
You can easily pop the keys off to clean though.
A problem that developed later on is the light under the Num Lock button.
Sometimes it will flash on and off, sometimes its permanently off and sometimes it works fine.

If you do get any problems, you might be covered by a 1 year warranty by Scan. That is what their policy was last year when I got mine.

I have the K95... so worth it. Corsair 3 year warranty, forget SCANs awful warranty - get it from scan but don't need to even bother with scan!

Great price, heat added. Would have grabbed this if it wasn't for the poor £13 delivery charge to NI. Typical :-(

got this last year from scan (which is a company i usually avoid at all costs....), mine came as new, but the problem with these is that a few of the backlit keys can fail, which didnt bother me and scan gave me another £10 off, a year on and its still working perfectly, i hate going back to using the crappy non mechanical ones at work...

so yeah dont think twice at this price!

Doesn't seem to have a back slash key, rats would have gone for this! Heat regardless

Edit: It does have one (see next comment)

I have this from a previous deal and it has a black slash key, next to the shift button. The picture also shows a US layout keyboard but gives the UK model number. I'd presume they're just using the wrong picture but you could contact them to confirm.

Excellent keyboard in my experience though, it arrived with a defective backlight under one of the keys but scan refunded me £5 for it so I was happy with that.

Just ordered. Thanks OP!

One odd thing to note however is that it's a pre-order due in tomorrow, yet they are offering next day delivery (specifically listed as tomorrow ie Thursday).
How can they get the product in tomorrow and also deliver tomorrow? Suspect they already have them in stock but not on their general stock system.

They shouldn't be offering it as such then, with the increased price. I expect to receive a refund ;-) It was the second cheapest option, with the cheapest being next Wednesday

This is an ok keyboard, I am using it right now (brought it in from the US as I prefer the US layout) - the right enter key on the keypad is too easily hit when you reach for the mouse in my book, it's very easy to clean though due to the design being raised. Not a bad implementation overall, probably on a par with the Filcos in some ways. I believe there are new ones on the way which have variable colouring for key backlighting too.

fantastic and last forever

but this is refurbished
