I bought this refurbished laptop as a Christmas present for my son. I am a big fan of dell the build quality is great. I must admit I am overwhelmed with what I received. I am going to post some pictures of the actual laptop I received so you can assess yourself because I was dubious of "refurbished" . I ordered it on Tuesday and received it the next day with free delivery!

It is a intel i5 3rd generation with 8GB memory and a 128Gb SSD. The condition is like new and the battery is great it lasted out of the box for over two and a half hours. For under £200 from a genuine retailer with 12 months warranty I couldn't find a like for like deal with these options at this price.

hi.where do you live?

i was also looking at this, do you know if it has one finger scroll on the touchpad?

hi where was it bought from?

i'm looking for a laptop.seems a good deal

pretty good for a hackintosh build also

um, i think dell are a bit over rated. I believe my current laptop is the 3rd gen i5 3230 I purchased it over 2 years ago. for a £100 more. So not sure if this is great value or not. The only merits being a ssd and 8gb

Got a good review when came out in 2013

Gigarefurb has good reviews. Seems like a stonking deal to me!

Good deal/ nice price with an SSD + 8Gb RAM. We have a lot of these at work and are quite pleased with them.

Cheaper option for the same spec with less RAM (I think - at least from a quick scan)

128G doesn't seem much space though

Heat added.

Would the 128SSD drive on its own be enough, would you not also need a conventional hard drive as well?

128GB is fine, thats all i have on my macbook

Unless you're storing masses of games and movies, 128GB will be ok.

Having a smaller (but SIGNIFICANTLY faster) SSD is much more sensible than getting a very large conventional HDD and using 10% of it's capacity

Nice spec, more then enough for most. In regards to the space you can pick up a 1TB SSHD for £80 or 4TB external for £100 as it has usb 3.0. Unless you are not storing lots of music and movies, 128gb is fine

You can just get one of them large and tiny usb sticks that sit near flush to the side for additional storage. That's a really good deal for sure

Beats a Macbook with same specs

You can get these cheaper from other suppliers but this is a good price all the same - the Dell E6220/6230 are very good machines.

Think it's also worth pointing out that these cost nearly £1,000 a few years ago before they appeared on the ex-lease market. So you really are getting premium build quality for pennies.

Is this better than the one posted on black Friday also what's the warranty on this laptop and how big is the screen

£220 for win10 home upgrade...

Thanks, just bought for £193.99

Still prefer a ThinkPad X230 but they often go for more. Here's the NBC review:
notebookcheck.net/Rev…tml
Rather strange that unlike the larger Dell Latitudes like E6430 etc. this doesn't have a trackpoint. The other well-known Dell Latitude think is to have HDMI instead of DisplayPort which is strange for a business machine.
Still plenty of people do not like the classic black ThinkPad look and this looks a bit more modern.

The NBC review says yes.

This is 12.5" extra portable laptop so it doesn't have a DVD where you could add a 2nd HDD. AFAIK the only 12.5" laptop which has an optical drive is the HP EliteBook 2570p.
While this appears to have spare miniPCI slots, googling shows that they do not seems to able to take mSATA (which would be an expensive option anyway):

can anyone else confirm this has 1 finger scroll on the edge of the touchpad?

anyone used these guys?

I've bought 2 E6420's and have been really happy with them. Because they're a little bigger they have a dvd drive. I've put a caddy in the dvd bay and put the original hdd in there and then dropped a 128gb ssd in the main slot (undo 4 screws and it slides right out).
I picked up the laptops for about £100, the caddy costs about £5 and the ssd around £25. Super snappy running Windows 10 and crazy cheap

do you know if these or the one above has 1 finger scroll option as edge scrolling i don't like the 2 finger function on the new ones.

Just ordered before 1pm to get 1 day delivery with 1 hour dpd alert. Thank so much OP as I was looking for some time for something similar.

Ordered with Windows 10 for an extra £20. This should be smoking hot.

Thanks OP. Ordered one earlier with W10. Will be great for my wife to do all her bits and bobs on.

Maybe being refurbished is putting people off, but I've had Dell refurbed laptops before (although not from this retailer) and they have arrived as new. This is a Dell business model so better build quality than the normally cheaper home user Inspiron range, i5, ssd, 8gb ram, W7 Pro and years warranty this is super hot

I ordered mine earlier, just got text to confirm delivery for tomorrow.

I failed to add the option to upgrade to Windows 10. Does anyone know if this can be done later, is it worth doing and would it cost?

Any advice would be appreciated

No mention of the 12.5" screen in the title or description. I wonder why.

I hope not because that annoys me, I'm used to the 2 finger scroll and like it. Not sure if you can tweak the settings.

Dam showing out of stock?
