looks useful for a 2nd lappie

Battery guaranteed to hold charge for a minimum of 30 minutes. The unit has been tested, cleaned, checked and configured so that everything is according to the expected standard.

Just had a SUPER BAD experience with Dell warranty repairs (new laptop). Would never buy Dell again.

£139.99 for the windows 7 spec still seems a bargain. I've heard horror stories about Dell computers too. Its getting 24hrs to marinade before I hand over my not so hard earned cash

Don't worry, this won't have a warranty.

Dell are brilliant if your product is perfect (which in fairness usually is); but if you ever have to call them for support... it goes downhill from there.

However, for this price it's worth having as a spare laptop. Comes in very handy when you're main pc get's a virus and wont work anymore. You need to get back on-line to find a solution or download rescue discs.

They're pretty good once you get past Delhi Tech Support.

These are well built, strong chassis, power management works well (fan does not run all the time), and it has Gigabit Ethernet. Wifi is 802.11n and works fine. These is also an eSATA port useful. Good price for a well made unit. Drop in an SSD and Win8 or Win7 it will be fine. I have one and had to get a modified driver to get it to work on Win8 I think Win8.1 has better driver support. It is fine on Win7

That said there a lot of good low cost laptops as Microsoft now produce a zero cost licence the HP Stream Laptops 10,11,13 and 14" Streams all have good keyboards and acceptable build quality. If you factory in the cost of a new battery for this it might be an option.

Anyone know how to clean the fan on these from what I can tell you need to remove the touchpad, which means removing the keyboard, which means removing the screws on the base and below the screen, which means removing the strip below the screen and possibly the screen. I've seen a video on youtube for this model but wanted to know if there was a simpler way.

Sorry but cold from me.

Intel Core i3 2.27GHz
320GB HDD
3GB RAM
13" HD Widescreen
Windows 7 64 Bit
£149
Should compete with this deal and still be cheaper all things considered.

Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
160GB HDD
4GB RAM
ATi HD3400
1440 x 900
14.1" Widescreen

Similar age but better spec in that it's
- Higher res screen,
- Dedicated graphics card (should play HD content without issue)
- Larger hard disk
- More RAM yet cheaper than the best option listed here.
