Very easy indeed if you are replacing the primary drive. If you are adding a drive, power and SATA connections may be an issue and you may well need to improvise to fit/mount it.
If it uses the same blue caddy as my Optiplex 390 then very easily. The same caddy takes both 2.5" and 3.5" hard drive at once!
- which I'd gladly pay, to "backgrade" to W/7 pro!
You've only got a few months left of win7 updates, so GL with that.
And theres Linux afrer that
Lose the optical drive and put your ssd in there with a kit for about £6 on Amazon.
Get yourself a wifi dongle from ebay for £5 and you'll get wifi on the computer.
You have Spotify on it so can't be that bad, and it's not hard to get a usb WiFi working seeing as it's mostly plug and play.
You trolling?
Can you link to the Amazon deal please?
I actually prefer to keep the optical drive and replace the HDD with an SSD. Do you need a specific caddy for this machine or is it just a generic caddy? Thanks.
Most SSDs are 2.5 inch and your hdd usually 3.5 inch so you want a mounting kit to keep it in place
2.5" to 3.5" caddy
This is the one I used.
Qumox Laptop 2nd HDD SSD DVD Bay Caddy Adapter for 2.5''/12.7mm Universal CD/DVD-ROM SATA TO SATA Hard Drive External Enclosure

Really easy to fit and there's even a couple of guides on YouTube.
Thanks, but isn't this for laptops?
It is but it's the same drive that they use in an optiplex.
IF I'm not mitsaken , this CPU will work with ecc ram* , ya's ago I bought a HP microsever and upgraded the CPU to this , and it works fine with ECC ram . No bov'sCould be good for any server boffins.
*Doesnt admit it on Intel ark
According to motherboard manufacturer Supermicro, if a Core i3 processor is used with a server chipset platform such as Intel 3400/3420/3450, the CPU will support ECC with UDIMM.[24] When asked, Intel confirmed that, although the Intel 5 series chipset supports non-ECC memory only with the Core i5 or i3 processors, using those processors on a motherboard with 3400 series chipsets it will support the ECC function of ECC memory.

I bought it, and it already had these on it. Last owner didn’t delete. Not trolling at all
No need I think. There is a user manual Here worth reading if you are seriously thinking about buying and upgrading. Says it has a caddy for 2 x 2.5" disks, couldn't see anything about spare power or Sata connectors, but obviously if you want to ditch HDD that's not such a problem.
I wouldn't have thought there would be any space for extra hard drives so no
I am not sure if your joking or not
About what?
