I ordered one and can confirm it has Windows 8.1 Pro Installed.

Does this include keyboard?

I have Dell Venue 11 5130 model. I had problems with wifi - seems to be slower than any of my other devices connected to same wifi network laptop, mobile phone and android tablet. The speed of wifi card in the tablet changes day and night.

I have searched online and many other people having the same problem.

I can see it twice saying that it comes with Windows 8.1 Pro?

Pretty decent price if you ask me.

nice

Has anyone purchased from this co before? Are their refurbs almost new or any bad experiences? I asked about their warranty and they advised as it was RTB (return to base), that it was up to me to pay any postage costs for returns.

Slightly better deal than DELL outlet, site does say wind 8.1 pro as OS and this is usually licensed for these devices. top spec unit, have played with these at work and home for a year now and they are a win 8.1 PC in a tablet size package, especially like the 1080p screen.

Dell price is £288 + Vat & P&P thats about £80 more.

Bought one from this company for £199 + Vat for same model in September (although without an OS - I had a spare licence for win 8). Mine came as new. No scratches or marks at all.

Came with the Dell docking station included, which charges the tablet.

Bought the pro keyboard too for £67 (US version from their ebay store). This adds to the battery which is otherwise a little on the small side. Turn it in to an Excellent PC convertible.
Bought a new separate official charger for £14 of net.

If all bought on Dell website it would have come to over £1,000. Cost me a few pounds over £300 !!

Arrived within a couple of days.

However. Update all the drivers and firmware. The unit was freezing for a few seconds as has been a problem with this model.

TURN OFF Rapid Start Technology in the Bios (hold volume down when booting). This stopped the problem for me.

Boots to windows within seconds.
Fan can go on too much so if u don't need the full power use "low noise" power setting.

I do have a problem with the keyboard at the moment - I think it's the connectors so I'll see how good they are with returns.

If you get the stylus only get the version A02 others are essentially broken.

They also have the core i3 version for £189 + VAT + delivery

Really useful info. Thanks for sharing.:)

Thanks for this darthweb. Been on the lookout for one of these for some time, and this is much cheaper than Dell Outlet. Should be hotter!

So how do these compare to the surface pro 2 then? seem to be a fair few issues. They dont seem to be as powerful as surface pro so may be more limited i guess. They also look pretty big and bulky, the i5 version. How do people rate them against Surface? Is spending the extra money to get the Surface worth it?

just read some pretty dreadful reviews on amazon.com about this freezing issue.

Does the pen work well?

very tempting but emailed them, along with that link. They didn't comment on the link. They said that it has no dell warranty and the one year warranty is with them. Think I will give it a miss this time :).

I just received my order, Windows 8.1,looks like new.

let us know if it freezes up etc.

I just received my order, Windows 8.1,looks like new.

Bought one from them about three months ago.
It came in immaculate condition, plastic film was still on the screen. No scratches, etc...
Although there was a DODGY Win 8.1 Pro installed on it (KMSPico patched up license). All what I could see, there were some bios firmware files on the desktop. It seems the classify them as refurbished but all what they do is update the bios to newest version (first release was extremely buggy, Dell rushed the product on the market) and that is all. Everything else is intact.
I got rid of the dodgy windows, put mine on and the tablet works like a charm. Would recommend to everyone.
HOT

Wow, an Ultrbook spec tablet for the price of a netbook. HEAT!

I have and been using them for over 10 years now. The customer experience with the company is good but I would steer clear of these tablets - on paper they're a great idea, but in reality they are plagued with sleep/wake issues, dock problems and battery drain when off, returned all the ones I had - despite claims updating the BIOS fixes these, it does not - Google it, here's one for example, many other issues too:

I've owned this model before, and swapped it for the lower-spec 5130. The 7130 is noisy with the fan sounds, and suffers from frequent freezing and keyboard issues. The 5130 has an atom processor which is silent, runs at essentially the same speed, is thinner and lighter, and never freezes. Plus, it's cheaper ...

Where is it available at a cheap price? I have an Asus T100 - but am always looking to upgrade it to something with a Full HD screen.
Many thanks

Lots on ebay for similar prices or less, all dell refurbs sold by reputable companies. I paid less than this for the 256GB SSD model

I had one from these guys too, missing a driver for £200.
Came with a copy of Windows 8.1 installed which was hooky, but that wasn't the end of the world.

Ended up selling it as I didn't use it enough to justify it but it is a cracking tablet and I do regret selling it now.

It also has a removable battery and SSD, which is unheard of for tablets.

Currently listed as 10 left at Price: £219.00

How did you fix the hooky Windows install? Is it just a matter of downloading a Windows 8.1 iso? Or does it have a recovery partition on it allowing you to do a full clean installation?

The higher-end ones might come with real Windows. I had Windows 8.1 keys to use anyway

dont buy this. had one with top specs, various malfunctions and suddenly died after a month.

This has a fan inside !?!!

we've lots of these tablets at work. Not aware of any significant problems with them. If you go for the clamshell keyboard with the extra battery be aware that it does give great battery life (we tested it at 18 hours of bardic use) but it makes the tablet very heavy. Heavier than a 15" laptop

Basic use even.

Search on this site and you will see a few previous deals with useful background and information on this tablet. Many of those who bought recently (mainly from the Dell Store) have had no issues with the 5130 (Atom variant). I got one for £180, it is brilliant value for money.

Few more issues (with things like the fan) from the I3 or I5 variant. I followed the threads and felt the Atom would suit my needs

If you want a Dell Venue Pro 11 for a good price, I'd go for the Atom version. Some still in stock.

Dell Outlet Store Cheap Venue Pro11

Stay away ppl. Sold mine after 4 months. Nothing but trouble.

Not a bad deal at all. I bought one of these as Scratch and Dent from the Dell Outlet last month. It came with the the same i5 processor but with 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD and only cost £334.80. It came with a very slight scratch at the back but, considering the same spec cost around £850 from the regular Dell site, the scratch is insignificant IMO. I'd never buy one of these brand new; a Surface Pro would be better in that case.

Just make sure that you update it to the latest firmware ASAP or you'll have to put up with the annoying fan. Prior to me installing the latest firmware, even very minor activity resulted in the fan spinning up loudly; this is a common issue.

The latest firmware has resolved the fan issue. I was on the verge of getting rid of mine within days of buying it, until I installed the latest firmware.

Has the latest firmware resolved the other issues though?

I have no issues with mine. But i don't know whether this is firmware or other related.
read the other threads if you want to know or google.
