I bought this at £200 from AO recently to replace a Nespresso Pixie which was eating away at my environmental conscience.
The coffee produced isn't piping/scalding hot but it's ok for me.
It's an ok machine, especially for the price. The one thing that bugs me about it is that it appears to have only one heater.
This means that if you decide to make a coffee after using the steaming wand, you have to wait for the temperature to drop before the machine will allow you to do so. This can take quite a while, e.g. 5 mins (not timed it but seems like a while).
Got to be hot for the price, with a year's warranty.

But I can't justify junking the Nespresso machine, as an espresso drinker limiting his intake!
What minimum throughput does this sort of thing need, not to justify it, but simply to keep everything fresh? I trust it doesn't need daily stripping and cleaning ...

You can quickly make the temperature drop on these. After you have steamed the milk simply press either the 1 or 2 cup coffee button. It will flash to indicate that the temp is too high . Simply keep releasing steam out of the wand until the lights turn solid and then use as normal.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll try it out!
Bought new at this price nearly 2 years ago. But with warranty its an ok price. And produces a good espresso. Well worth the money.
With some tweaking, these machines (I have an ESAM4200S) can make good espressos and lattes or cappucinos... The range of adjustment is way too large, which means that hunting for decent results may take time (starting with the finest grind setting, a fairly low water quantity and a fairly high coffee amount will help)
