Anyone bought a refurbished dyson before ?

Yes but they sent a new one. Dyson price fix the other sellers so to clear old models they pretend there referbished as they can't discount or the price fixing doesn't work. Sounds odd but

Yes couple of years back from the outlet store. Came in a Dyson refurb box but looks brand new. No problems with it so far and we use it multiple times a day.

Anyone know the difference between this and the V7 Motorhead (without the pro)

Yes but that's a lucky one to be fair they Normally come used condition referb but I believe good however it's the warranty that's the issue with these as the battery's 🔋 seem not be up for it for very long. So I wonder is it worth the extra £50 quid to get that extra year?

We have an aging v6 animal. Is this worth the upgrade or better to wait for the v8 to drop?

Only difference seems to be the battery that can last 30 mins compared to the V6 which is only 20 mins. Has anyone used both of these?

This has same battery as v6 but less power so it lasts longer. Definitely wait for the v8.

Confused, this will be only 1 year warranty, for £50 you get extra year.
TBH, dyson used to be 5 years and their vacuums play up after 3rd year.
I think it is cool, but V11 is out, so you can imagine how bugs they fix. They are trying to get rid of out stock at the price of losing one year warranty for £50 and calling it refurbished... you work it out, brand new £199 2 years warranty vs refurnished and ebay £149 for 1 year warranty.

Am I missing something, how can the v7 have less power than a v6?

yes we have two, one looked brand new, the other was clearly a refurb but fitted with new filters, tools etc.
A lot of people have got new but its not guraranteed.
Used Dyson eBay a couple of times for refurbished. Send like new with a year warranty each time

Think you get additional accessories and black wand with the pro, otherwise same unit.
Well, bad timing. I bought Dreame V9 from Xiaomi for £169 last week. So far I'm happy.

They aren’t actually refurbs, majority are new and if you bother to register them they get 2 years warranty. It’s just Dysons way of selling more,

I have three dysons, a Dc30, Dc56 and a V7 motorhead like this deal (came unopened but someone in the warehouse had made a smiley face on the box by pushing a pen to make holes in the box). All three are used daily and the DC30 is getting on for 12 years old and is used everyday in the winter to clean up ash from the solid fuel boiler. I've got a cannister type in the workshop that must be 20 years old and is still going strong, although the motor is quite loud now, it was only demoted as the V7 outperformed it.

Debating whether to pull the trigger on this or wait for V8 deals on Black Friday - any guesstimate on what the V8 might be reduced to?

I actually bought a refurbished one of these for £159.99 a couple of years ago, it's been brilliant so far, it was complete in a plain brown Dyson branded box and it looked new to me.
Purchased. Great deal, thanks op:)
Phil_Mitchell20/11/2019 16:49

Yes it's brand new and still going fine.
Thanks ordered one, lets hope Black Friday deals don't make me regret it!
I’ve had mine for 3 years!!! Going to buy this tonight it’s brilliant deal just like brand new
Just a warning about these. They are great when working but the build quality is certainly not what it should be. They also take a good bit of maintenance so be careful if buying for an elderly relative. I got one for my mum and she thought it was broke a couple of months after getting it because a bit of fluff was stuck making it cut out.
I bought a v6 refurb about 2 1/2 years ago and the battery died about 18 months after purchase. Loved it before that so bought a v8 refurb. That's just died on me about 18 months after purchase. It's refusing to charge at all
Had to get a henry to replace as I'm not willing to spend £150-200 every 18 months to replace.

But if both last 3-4 years you've saved £50. Do they break down before 2 years regular?

Where from?

Where from?

I bought it on 11.11, but surprisingly, on Amazon. £189 -£20 free coupon. I've read reviews and seems to be good, better than old dysons but with better battery life. It's still on Amazon but not that cheap. PS V9 and V9P are exactly the same - only difference is top cover.

Change the battery

Just changed the battery on our v6 after 18m because original battery no longer holds a charge and it's good as new again

Looks like the the only difference with the V7 motorhead Pro is that it has a black wand! which.co.uk/new…od/

There's another thread on here for the V7 Motorhead extra from John Lewis, it's £199 so £50 more but comes with a two year John Lewis warranty who are usually pretty good at replacing stuff, plus it also comes with two extra tools [soft dusting brush and stubborn dirt brush in addition to the usual crevice tool and combination tool]. I know many of the posts say the refurbs are actually new but there's no way to guarantee this and also they're advertised with a 1 year warranty rather than the John Lewis two year warranty. My employer has a rewards scheme (xexec) which offers discounted e-vouchers for loads of shops so got 4% off the John Lewis price using the e-vouchers to pay.

This will bring my 'hoover' tally to 4... I think I may have a problem!

A new Henry costs less than 100£, it doesn't warrant buying a refurb.
I've got a Henry, but the convenience of a cheap dyson with up to 2yr warranty is great when you have a toddler creating mess around the house.

Just a note, as someone already mentioned, these need a lot of maintenance like clearing out the awkward dust bin after each clean and aslo hair wrapping around the brush.
Been waiting for a deal on this, cant see it dropping much further - ordered thanks xx
