Thanks for posting. I’ve added the actual price and merchant to the title, added an image and also added that this is Refurbished.
Here’s a ‘Help’ link which gives tips and advice on thread posting.

Looks like a nice deal.

I bought my i7 2540p for the same price but without charger.
This is better because you can add a ssd and keep the optical drive.
2540p's lose their optical drive unless you use a micro ssd and they're expensive.

Is it the luck of the draw?

I bought a laptop from this company following a deal posted here a couple of weeks ago and I can say their customer service is excellent. I had to return the laptop as it wouldn't even start and they replaced it the very next day without any cost for delivery and so far the replacement has been working very well.
You can get grade A same specs much cheaper on ebay from quite a few trusted sellers this is not a great deal

Was considering buying this, but if you know of a better deal please share
I would recommend a thinkpad X220 over this and you can often get them for a similar price. Unless you really need the optical drive.

Not a bad system at all. Stick a 120GB or 240GB SSD in as a boot drive and move the existing HDD (in a caddy) to where the optical bay currently is currently located and you'll have a very nice laptop for general computing tasks. Even the relatively low 1366x768 resolution will be far less of an issue on this 12.5" display compared to a larger 15.6" one.

Windows 7 Pro should be eligible for a free upgrade to WIndows 10 Pro, too.

Heat added, OP :).
There is driver issue if upgrade to Windows 10
Someone have it upgraded to Windows 10, USB port not working contacted hp,you can upgrade but it is not compatible with driver
I bought one from these guys a good few months now. Battery life excellent, good price, came well packed.

Are you sure about the 2540p as our machines in the office have optical drives and normal 2.5" disks at the same time?

You're mistaken.
If you have a DVD drive in the expansion bay then the only place left for a hard drive is the 1.8" bay.

I have 2 of each of the 2560p and X220 for work and use all almost daily. The HP is a superior laptop, better build quality, trackpad better, far more slick to use. Add a ssd and it is super quick.

I have one of these with an SSD running OSX Yosemite. The CPU fan can be a bit active at times despite me reseating the heatsink with new paste but overall its a great wee machine (takes 16gb RAM too). Oh and it works with the HP dock as well

I prefer the keyboard on the X220 (have one of those myself as well)

I have this exact laptop, upgraded to Windows 10, everything runs perfectly, no driver issues. I did flash the bios to latest version and also used Iobit's Driver Booster software to bring all drivers up to date however - no issues with usb ports either

I work as a laptop/I.T. refurbisher, they're both excellent laptops. I much prefer the Lenovo keyboard, they got it right with the X220. The Elitebooks are great solid laptops, and 2nd gen i5's still hold up today, as many laptop CPUs haven't increased in processing performance but gone for power saving efficiency, so these laptops will cope with general usage with ease.

Many driver issues on laptops can be overcome using the excellent free Snappy Driver, a tiny download, you don't need the full installation (which is massive 12GB+) you just need to download the index and it will tell you which driver packs are applicable to the machine. Then if you're still stuck you can try Slim Drivers. I don't use Driver Pack Solution as Snappy Driver is so much better.

The Sales of Goods Act will cover you to 5 years.
Doubt it.
Doesn't cover used items sold on auction sites
