Thanks. Better deal than buying second hand. Have a charger and headphones already so not worried about those.
I always hear bad things about Argos refurbs, does anyone have any experience with them?

Yes! I bought an S8 refurb from Argos. When it stopped working 14 months later I took it to a repair place. They showed me where the back had been taken off (badly) and a non-Samsung battery put in using double sided sellotape! That had come loose, rattled around and damaged various things. "Professionally refurbished" my arse.

Thanks for the feedback which sounds a frustrating experience, I've come to really dislike the term 'refurbished' as it can mean anything from a customer return in as new condition to worn second hand devices that have been given a quick clean.

Thanks for the heads up, I will avoid!

This does not surprise me at all. Had an lg G6 sent away for so called professional expert sim tray replacement after the tray was stuck inside. Which they claimed the mother board had to be replaced too. £250 charge! It came back to John Lewis and they rang saying the repair was awful. They were not prepared to accept it. I was given a full refund. I bet that phone was sold off as a refurb. The quality just isn't there anymore.
I purchased an S7 edge from Argos Ebay and it developed a fault withing the warranty period and they gave me a full refund. The condition was mint. I've now got an S9+ and once again received in mint condition. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones
Oh well looks like it's expired but useful to get feedback to bear in mind for future Argos deals.

Jeez!
Oos now
Theres 5 really worried buyer here now after all the comments :O
I've had several 'refurbished' computers from Argos. They were all mint.

I do wish 'refurbished' as a term was banned. It conjures up images of thousands of little French polishers in back street workshops diligently going over every millimetre until they sign it off with satisfaction.

In reality returns are chucked in another box by some zombie and go straight back out again.

Totally agree with this. Refurbished is a very misleading title. Might as well call it second hand, but then no one would buy it.
Came back into stock just now so managed to bag one. Thanks OP. Will update everyone on condition when it arrives. If it's not MINT then will give back and just wait on black Friday.

Got mine delivered today.

Box was in excellent condition.
Pristine screen, very little marks on the back. Charging Cable unused, no plug.

Completed set up without any sim activation, pen works.

What else do I need to check before I am confident it's a good deal?

Warranty until 31-12-2020.
I can live with that, any opinions if this is a good deal?
Depends on what's a good deal to you. If mine arrives in pristine condition and has warranty until 31-12-2020 at £400 that's a good deal to me. Bear in mind purchased through my company so in effect it's £320 so can't complain at all. Also managed sell my S7 edge for £150 so fantastic deal. I do believe the black note 9 from Argos on similar deal was around £360 and again does keep coming in and out of stock.
My note 9 arrived this morning. The outside box was slight marked. But have to admit very impressed with the condition of the phone. It is MINT. Has to be a 14 day return as not one mark anywhere on the phone. Really happy with condition. My warranty runs until end of Nov 2020.
