good price. I had an HP chromebook from a curry's deal last year. great machine. ended up taking first one back as stopped charging within a month, and second one just last week as strip of keys stopped working. both faults apparently very common when you look up on chromebook support. rubbish, cause loved using it. just a wee warning for anyone given this is only 3/12 warranty. might be the HP build though- this isn't the same.

I think you can use skype on your browser now web.skype.com/en/

Love my chromebook, I won a Samsung 303c on ebay for £40 delivered, well chuffed with it.

1366 x 768

Ideal for mums dads and grandparents! and me too! typing on one now..... not perfect but almost instant start up and minimal fuss then the chromebook is your friend

if just basic internet stuff on a laptop is what you want and regular updates plus good battery life then £105 is hard to beat

My Samsung chromebook ran like a boss for 2 years, now I've purchased the 1080p screen, 4 gig Toshiba chromebook for £219 from John Lewis, point me in the direction of a standard laptop with 1080p screen for £219 quid.

My daughter loves her chrome book great for school work. Good spot op.

For browsing, emails, 720p video etc, I actually prefer my Chromebook to any of my Windows machines. It's just so much snappier in day to day use. Windows is a bloated clunkfest in comparison.

If they could up the ram to 4gb, increase the local storage to 64gb or more, and make VLC for ChromeOS (or improve codec support), it would be a Windows killer.

There's also an Android Skype > ChromeOS workaround.

Potential buyers should also bear in mind that this comes with the lower powered Bay Trail Celeron rather than the more powerful Haswell Celeron in the Acer 720. That said, for £100, it's a bargain.

I get a score of 48,000 using their benchmark compared to about 21,000 for their Bay Trail Celeron.

Its the "B" version of the Chromebook i.e amazon.co.uk/Tos…2+b

No it can't run Kodi yet, but to tell the truth its easier to use an Amazon Firestick for that, I managed to pick one up from Amazon for £19.99 on a deal and it comes with a remote. You willl need to side load the app though. Or a Raspberry Pi2 for £29 plus case and microsd card (8 gig will do) and a HDMI cable, so around £39.

The Chromebook is still brilliant though.

Yes it does have the super fast SSD and a healthy chunk of google drive.
