Tempted as I cant record many channels on my Hitachi recorder but I'm worried that is down to the reception rather than a fault with the machine.

Does anyone know if use this with my tv which has freesat ?

Almost a good price for just the hard disk......

hmm, tempting! :O

Scart Socket only no HDMI socket cold from me in this day and age...picture will not be as good.

You will be able to use it as a standalone freeview recorder (with aerial input) but not to record the freesat signal from the TV - I hope that helps !!!

That's what I was thinking. OK for older CRT TV's that have scart sockets whcih I have a few hanging around.

guys i have a monitor, could i connect this somehow?, is there a SCART to VGA or SCART to DVI, even a SCART to HDMI?

What TV doesn't have Scart today you numpty. All the manufacturers make them backwards compatible. Same reason they put crappy CVBS ports on them,

anyone got a link for a decent HD freeview box?

Shame there is no HDMI

Chill out buddy, he's probably saying that as the Recorder doesnt have HDMI

I bought a reconditioned one of these for my Nan a while back and it cost me twice this price. However, she has had nothing but trouble with it.

All sold out now as i was just about to buy one

Bigpockets' stock was reconditioned.

Sold out

It says HDR, but it is not HD. That is borderline misleading... Plus no HDMI means you do not even get the full Freeview picture quality.
