Would this be a smart buy as a Plex and download server?

It guess it would, but do not know about CPU power for 4k content (you might need to do some googling on that). This desktop has got multiple hdd bays inside and you can get some more with front panel extension bays.

Look at what this guy has upgraded to see what the inside looks like:

Do you just attach a monitor and you're away?

No you need to connect to a power lead and power socket. You also will likely need to connect up a keyboard and mouse.

Good price. It should have USB 3.0 ports at the rear.
Stick a cheap SSD in it and it'll be spot on for web and office
Had quite a few of these at an old school of mine, solid workhorses.
Lots of discussion in the previous thread from a couple of days ago.
Nice. Good piece of kit. Loads at work still run solidly.

Great spec for live streaming to Twitch, mine hasn't missed a beat in the year I've owned it.

Interesting comment on that video about power consumption. I've always thought that an 8200 or 8300 SFF PSU would handle a 1050 Ti (without an additional PCI-E power connector) absolutely fine, but never wanted to 100% commit without having tried it - however there's plenty of people who will come on to a deal like this and dismiss it totally as needing much more power.

From that link: An 8200 maxed out with an i7, 32GB Ram and 1050 Ti, and the worst power consumption I measured (at the wall) was 135W.

Pretty much confirms it's fine.

Sorry I meant i5 performance not power. I had a 8300 with i7 3770 12gb ram and it worked just fine. i5 has got 4 cores but no hyper-threading like i7. It was a good PC and one of the easiest ways to get into hackintoshing.

It was clear enough you meant performance. I was just looking at that video and found the bit about power consumption interesting, considering sometimes you get people claiming the PSU isn't powerful enough.

I might have to do the Hackintosh at some point too, since I've got one sitting unused.
Most of the SFF PC's have at least a 240w PSU which is fine for the 1050ti LP. Running this right now on a HP 800 G1.

It does say they're all USB 2 ports on the info bit and it looks to be that way from the picture too

Defo usb 3.0 bought one the other day innit

You'd likely need a DisplayPort to HDMI converter if your monitor is just HDMI (although has a VGA output also). You can get cheap ones from eBay for a couple of quid.

Well that's annoying (for me) I avoided buying it for that reason, but I did eventually get a different one for about the same price
Hmm I am getting £74.99 as the price.
All gone. Probably just as well as I was talking myself into one.

Thank you for the detailed response!
I'm going to keep an eye on the site and check if these come back into stock, but I'd anyone spots it could they comment here in case I miss it? Many thanks.
Back in stock! Just ordered one and going to grab a 1650 low profile too :-)
What's people experience with RAM speeds on these units? Read somewhere it can handle ddr3 1600mhz but people haven't always had much success.
Just ordered one. Hope it runs fusion 360

I've had a 'your order is on the way' email from itzoo this morning. It's coming via ups but not sure when that'll be.

Yeah I got that email just now. I thought it's 2-3 days for delivery but apparently not.
Well, collected mine from the depot this evening after UPS decided not to deliver it yesterday, and it's going straight back.

Case is bent at the back and looks like it's been dropped - doesn't even stand up straight! :-(
