Refurbished iMac's @ Currys from £849.00

Just been wasting some time looking at computers I can't afford and found a bunch of refurbished Apple desktops & laptops on the PC World website.

APPLE iMac MD093B/A Refurbished 21.5" All-in-one Desktop £849.00
APPLE iMac MD094B/A Refurbished 21.5” All-in-one Desktop £899.00
APPLE iMac MD-096B/A Refurbished 27” All-in-one Desktop £1099.00

Those are this years models. Saving between £400 and £500 compared to new prices. There's older models and various MacBooks as well.

They are refurbished, but after some digging on Google, PC World are Apple certified to carry out refurbs to Apples standards. They also come with 12 months warranty as well.

Still out of my price range but might be useful to somebody richer than I.

I've had a look and can't see it anywhere. If I'm mistaken, let me know.

I bought a refurbed iPad 2 from Currys a few weeks ago. I thought I was buying an Apple refurb.

It was a duffer and kept rebooting. I can't see how they could have tested it properly as it happened straight after plugging it in.

Fortunately the nice people in the Apple store changed the whole unit without question.

I'm sticking to Apple refurbs in future.

Oh well, I was contemplating getting the £899 one I listed but gone now.

I knew I should have bought one before I posted

Apple - complete waste of money rip-off crap!

The only thing worth the money is their OS

Build a Hackingtosh

good price

Currys seem to think that refurbished = repackaged.
The amount of faulty systems that they sell as refurbished is a joke.
If they were a garage they'd take a faulty car empty the ashtrays and clean the windscreen (badly) and sell it as being repaired.
Totally clueless.

I have an i5 2500k and an Asrock Z68 Extreme4 motherboard; any instructions for my set up as I wouldn't mind testing it out for an extended period to see if I like it.

There is a supported hardware list, having the correct hardware model etc makes the hackintosh install very easy, other times it takes some time patching etc.

Here is a the best site for it:

Thanks I just checked it out and found my motherboard for 10.8.3 but on clicking the link that say's it will get you 90% there it seems as though insanelymac has removed the info and replaced it with a message saying that they don't support tonymacx86 insanelymac.com/for…86/

It's reasons like this I would never buy anything refurbished! I'll stick with new stuff!

I've bought a refurbished MacBook Pro from Currys 2 years ago. Can't recommend highly enough. Came in plain box but with all the accessories. Never failed once. If you can get them for a good price well worth considering.

How is this not yet in the negatives? Where are all the anti-applers today? (_;)

I would rather buy a car for such money ... ;-)

Not voting hot or cold. One word. Hackintosh.

Another vote for the iMac, just bought the 27 inch model after a lot of thought

really impressed so far from buying the kit instore (cardiff) superb customer service,

just need to get daughter off it now!
