I know this will probably go cold and the usual suspects will offer their insightful opinions as to why it's a poor product because of the screen and lack of GPS (LadyEleanor I'm looking at you ;-)), someone will say it's cold because it's Apple, somebody will say it's overpriced (although not understanding the difference between overpriced and expensive) and somebody will compare it to the £99 Cobalt 80 but it's the first time it's been on the refurb store and it's £30 cheaper which is still a 12.5% reduction.
The iPad 4 is also available.

Voted Cold for trying to manipulate me in trying to vote hot!
Poor screen, lack of GPS, poor mans ipad, typical overpriced apple junk, you'd be better off with a android, the cobalt 80 was a good buy if you search on HUKD.

Sent from my ipad 4 64gb
Great tablet, voted hot.

I'm glad we got that out of the way early

Got an example to backup your claim, I need one
Not an abacus. Cold.
Does it make calls or do I need an Iphone for that?
I understand the difference between over priced and expensive. Still horrendously over priced.

Good deal for the technophobes out there who like their hardware/software totally locked down.
So what you're saying deal poster is that I can only have an opinion if it's the same opinion as yours?
Hot, these are essentially new, apple refurbished products are ALWAYS perfect, they replace almost everything including the battery.
I'm typing on one now ... Very good bit of kit
Why bother posting a deal with a rant ? Cold for the attitude.

Haha. No, just ignore Apple posts if you don't like Apple stuff. We've all heard the argument a million times.
Cold, it's a Apple.

I'm saying don't be boring and be original. Every post for an Apple product will have the same comments usually by the same anti Apple people.
And every Android post has the same arguments contrary by the same Anti Android people
It's getting dull.

Overpriced compared to the other cheaper iOS compatible devices made by companies other than Apple you mean?
The Galaxy Tab 2 8gb is 'over priced' compared to the Nexus 7 16gb at £159 for each of them as they are equivalents and a direct comparison is possible. The iPad Mini is just expensive as has no like for like equivalents and there are no direct comparisons.

COYS by the way!!

Refurb deals are worth it, hot.
not a great deal - especially as some retailers are offering the ipad mini at £249 on occasions. £10 less for a refurb? not worth it in my book...sorry!
Good discount. Apple refurbished = as good as new in my experience.

Umm I'm not sure you could eat it?
I am something of an Android 'fan boy'. I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and a Galaxy S3. I have had extended access to the latest 'official' Android devices (nexus4, nexus7 and nexus10). I am (or was) always recommending them over Apple equivalents, and so what I am about to say pains me.

I won an iPad Mini last Friday and my opinion after 5 days use is that it is a superior product. Especially if your main use is going to be browsing websites. It renders pages better than any browser I have tried on my Android devices. The lack of widgets really hasn't been noticeable yet. I would say it's only down side is that you have to register a debit/credit card when you set up an iTunes account.

If I was recommending a tablet to people I would still tell them to take cost in to consideration, but if I was to ignore the price and just talk about the product, the iPad is in my opinion superior.

And just ignore them if you do as well i guess?

I like potatoes but know £10 per 500g is horrendously overpriced.
Aren't these basically small ipad2's? Been looking for my daughters 13th birthday and it is a toss up between a 16gb ipad mini or a 32 gb ipod touch 5th gen. 16gb seems awfully small when u can't expand it

Only if somebody is selling the exact type of potato or a direct equivalent for less money.
If they are are special type only available from one farm in the world and nobody else sells them then they are expensive, not over priced
once you've used the mini for a while the normal size ipad seems way too big and heavy.
The screen is poor in comparison though - but i still wouldnt go back to the larger size
Pointless, as NOT retina display. First generation Apple devices always need to be avoided.
brand new is only 270
Voted cold. These do not taste of apples at all.
I seriously considered selling my iPad 2 16GB WiFi for one of these, however as a few posters have said it's like an iPad2 only smaller.

I like the fact it's smaller and neater, however personally I too think it's overpriced as if you shop around you can get a decent seconhand iPad2 for not much more.

Just my 2¢'s

HUKD
Its so overpriced that the closest android device with similar, but still poorer build quality/materials still sells for around £400 and comes with an OS and hardware that is 2 years old.

I just cant go back to that plastic crap anymore. Apple and HTC have me spoiled where quality hardware is concerned.
Not a hot deal, warm at most.
What it should actually cost, no wait a lil less and the Mini would be a winner with the lack of specs it has. Whens iPad Mini 2 out ?
I had an Android tablet and it stopped working after a few months. I bought a refurbished iPad almost two years ago, and I am using it to type this.
Why do apple/android deals attract the loonies?

It's a deal, it's not a steal and by no means sale of the century but if you want one it's the cheapest nearly new you will get atm.

For apple lovers it's hot, android lovers should just not vote, and vice versa.

There's no way I'm listing my Coke deal, the Pepsi lovers will be throwing rocks at my windows.

I sold my 2 day old iPad 2 for one. Its so much better. I knew from using older 7" android tabs it was the right size for a tablet for most uses.

As with all products this late in the cycle though, I would deter anyone from even thinking of buying one. Wait a few months and you'll be rewarded with a newer model that will no doubt include a "retina" display.
Do want one of these, but only saving £30 of RRP with a refurb isn't a great deal.

Holding out for the Mini 2 with Retina whenever that decides to come out
I've just been given an iPad mini as present, and vey grateful I was too. However, if I was ever buying ANYTHING second-hand, I'd be looking for a lot more than 10% discount, e.g. bought a 9 month old car with 12000 miles that retails around the 17k mark brand new. Paid 10.3k. The price of these 'refurb' iPads/iPad minis does seem artificially high. That must be because we are 'mugs' for paying it.
