Refurbished iPhone X 64Gb £899 @ Mobiles.co.uk

Found 9th Dec 2017
Refurbished iPhone X from mobiles.co.uk (owned by Carphone Warehouse). They also have the iPhone 8 64Gb for 559. The description of refurbished on the site says basically as good as new but probably without earphones.

Question one should be asking is why is a phone that just launched already refurbished?

I’d rather pay the tiny bit extra and get brand new to be fair.

Lots of people change their minds. I did and returned my X after a week. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

Do they just reset it and give the outer shell a clean? . I understand manufacturer refurbs are replacement outer shell but re-use of internal main board and bits and bobs etc.

I would assume they'd just do the former. Why take apart a one month old phone if it looks like new and passes diagnostic tests?

I’d rather pay the tiny bit extra and get brand new to be fair.

Hopefully a lot more coming if one can wait till after boxing day!

If you know anyone going to HK/US, then that's your best bet. £850 equivalent for a new one.

Actually it cost £400+

About as invaluable as this freezing post. Thank you for your contribution!

It’s an Apple post. It’s bound to attract anti Apple votes. You tell me where you can get this cheaper refurbished. That’s what this site is all about isn’t it? Not submitting smug, judgmental comments.

Refer to the post above. You can get a new X for £850 equivalent in the US or HK.

This site is about deals. This isn't a deal, as reflected by the lack of heat.

They are neither smug nor judgmental. Merely factual.

This is neither Hot US deals nor Hot HK deals. The clue is in the site name. People vote for different reasons particularly with Apple products. You can’t get this cheaper in the UK from a major retailer - that’s a fact.

Misinformation and bitterness everywhere.

Merry Christmas one and all.

£899 for a second-hand X. Yup - you're right. It's deal of the century!

People are intitled to their opinion, however people should also respect others decisions. If someone wants to spend nearly £1k on a Samsung Note or iPhone X, then so be it. For some people £1k item falls within monthly disposable income. I say good luck to them, and well deserved.
I would love to go for this, but will wait for next years models.

Making software that is smooth doesn't come cheap, they're a business and they can charge more for quality software and better App Store apps compared to the garbage that is laggy Android and garbage apps in Play Store.
There's a reason why iPhone's don't slow down and Androids do even if you don't update the devices to newer resource heavy software. iPhone's top benchmarks too.

Yeh - it's called planned obsolescence.

iPhone's top benchmarks too.

If you are going to mention benchmarks, save yourself some money and buy the 8 Plus, which has the same single-core performance but oddly, a higer multi-core performance.

OK, not for you and that’s fair enough. But why come on here and claim that anyone who paid 1k for it stupid? As the guy above said, people are entitled to make their own choices and have their own financial circumstances that you have no knowledge of. Anyway, as the other guy said Happy Christmas one and all!

I'm not spending £1k on a phone yet when I'm happy with my iPhone 7. I'd also want FaceID next time and an OLED screen, so I when I'm ready, I'll spend the grand rather than save money.

I don't need to know their financial circumstances. Whether they can afford it or not, spending £1k on a phone is ridiculously stupid given that it costs almost a quarter of the full retail price to make and it does not do anything than a phone half it's price can't do. Most of the market commentary, if you have bothered to read it, state that while the performance, display and the camera combine to make this Apple’s best ever phone, it is isn’t significantly better than its rivals to warrant the huge jump in price.

Therefore, if you’re desperate to buy a new iPhone, many ought to do themselves a favour as I've already suggested and buy an iPhone 8 Plus instead - you’ll be saving plenty of cash, getting a phone that’s nearly as good, and one that is a lot less breakable too.

Withit earphones, no sale!

Well sir, thats what you get with iphone x for a grand, you have just stated the specs you’d pay a grand for, better open than wallet lol

m5rcc52 m ago

No - it costs $370 or £276.

I give you £276 go and make, you can keep it after that.

Thing is mate buying the 8 plus you are saving £200 which isnt that much for a phone that looks the same as 3 years ago, got my 256gb X £130 off so whilst im still pissed off at paying that much, its only a £70 difference to a model that looks like my 6 Plus, if i was going to get ripped from apple, it was never going to be on an identical looking model.

Yeh - when the XI is launched.

anyone looking for this phone should buy it new, who pays nearly £900 for a refurb to save a few pennies when it will cost you more in the long run. false economy buy it new or not at all if you cant afford it.
