Sweet, if the 8" runs as well as the 7" under Windows 10 then this is a great buy!

you sure its eligible? it comes with windows with bing which is basically windows 8.1 home, but the manufacturers of the tablet cant fiddle with it. Does that upgrade to 10 home? anybody tried it?

How did you update to windows 10? Just the popup in the task bar?

I haven't used my tablet for a while, as I've been far too busy, but what I've read was that wimboot was a big stumbling block. Ive yet to read anyone who has updated and commented on it.

Exactly how well can this run Windows?
I find it hard to believe 1GB of RAM will be sufficient now a days.

I got one of the Tesco Connect ones (pretty much identical to this model) - upgraded to windows 10 without incident yesterday. I also use it as my main media server and plug it in via HDMI to my TV. Works like a charm!

Windows is becoming more and more lean especially with Windows 10, the requirements are dropping.

I did an upgrade early on in the preview program. At the time the preview didn't support compressed volumes so I had to do a complete new install - a little involved but went well and has upgraded itself in the normal manner (preview builds) ever since. Have been generally impressed with how well it runs on such a low spec system - it never feels sluggish.

Guessing that the normal upgrade process will now work on the compressed volume but not had a reason to try it.

It runs fine. Heck, it runs better than the cheap 1GB Android tablets.

Wimboot is definitely NOT a stumbling block :).

My RAM usage has dropped by more than 400MB since switching to Windows 10. It is an amazingly lean operating system.

Thanks I've been looking for a download link as mine hasn't had the icon appear yet!

my laptop was sluggish under 8.1, seems pretty quick under 10.

Got one of these. I find the screen doesn't really go bright enough if using in a bright area such as on the train.

I upgraded mine to windows 10 yesterday as well and everything works perfectly apart from the auto rotate doesn't work. Did you have the same problem?
Cheers

Updated mine to Windows 10 - fine, activated no issues.
As to how good 1Gb is - laughable really - its fine! (After years of saying 4Gb is needed...)
Mine had AutoRoute 2013, Office 2013 (365), Office Accounting, VLC Media player streaming off micro SD and other bits and it works well. Surprising.
Of course, 3D games, CAD, heavy calculations will be slow.
But for the money, its a joke how good it is.

Works fine, look for "auto rotate lock" in the action centre. Also, you may need to update the graphics driver - mine I had to - but the auto search found it online, so easy.

Autoroute that's a blast from the past, amazed that they carried it on until 2014. Anyway not sure if you've noticed but there's an offline map mode built in to Windows 10 so you can download maps of UK and rest of the world.

I picked up a custom fit case on eBay after Christmas for my 9 yr old' s tablet, fitted great and tablet is still in one piece :-)

great lil tablet, surprisingly capable - can run games like XCOM or just about anything 2d and has HDMI out. not got win10 as part of the auto-update yet but gonna try it on this before my desktop. only real pain is how it handles doubleclicks/rightclicks but that's an OS problem specific to desktop games.

'We're sorry! This product is not for sale now.'

I really must learn to keep up

I wasn't aware of that, I'll take a look.
Used AutoRoute for many European trips, so needed to import 1000's of POIs etc - and having all of Europe in 3Gb or so was qute good.
Will check offline maps now
If you know a list of new WIn10 features

Mind arrived yesterday. Mint condition, no sign of use whatsoever. Office license unused. Very nice.

This evening will mostly be a Windows 10 upgrade night.

I got mine yesterday. Having trouble keeping it online. Most of the time it won't see any WiFi networks so I have to reboot it. Then it will see it for a minute or so before losing it again. It's crashed a few times also. Starting to think it's a faulty unit

Yeah my office license was unused. Top tip, don't try and merge the drives in front of the C: drive, classic mistake to make when you've had a few drinks and trying to free up some space. Turns out there's a load of partitions and handy space after you upgrade to Windows 10, so it's best to get an OTG cable, create a boot from USB and do a clean install.
