Just bought this - original price was £579. Even though it's refurbished, it still comes with a 12 month warranty - I've bought refurbs before without any trouble and this is a great price!

this isn't a good deal compared to the eos m or the Samsung nx3000 which are all similar prices and have better sensors. Cancel your order

Much maligned for its shortcomings, yet it has two class winning features: smallest MFT (AFAIK, someone here will correct me if I am wrong), the Flash which not only folds down to absolutely nothing but also can be bent with one finger to bounce off ceiling, wall etc. If 'sensor is everything' then there are better out there, though I doubt at this price. Nice find.

Not great IMO, the GF5 is discontinued and comes with the ancient and relatively poor 12mp sensor that remained unchanged since the 1st MFT cameras. It also comes with the large and basic kit lens.

It's not the smallest MFT camera by a long way incidentally, the GM1 and GM5 are a lot smaller.

E-PM2 seems like a better buy as it has the far superior Sony 16mp sensor, image stabilization and a hot shoe.

Yep, they are both smaller, thanks. All the same, these gf3,4, 5 (not much difference between them!) are small even for MFT. Paired with a 20mm f1.7 I can easily slip this in a jacket pocket. Lack of viewfinder is a PITA but I can live with it.

For those wanting to dip their toes in the waters of MFT this deal may be a affordable entry point.

the nx3000 with aps-c sensor is £179.99, canon EOS M is £179.99 at Argos also with an aps-c sensor

Plenty of reasons to choose an MFT system camera over an APS-C camera. Sensor size isn't everything. I personally much prefer the 16mp sensor in my E-M5 to the 18mp one in the EOS M which looks terrible at high ISO or starts banding as soon as you push the files.

However the 12mp sensor in this GF5 isn't the best (same as the one in my old G2)

E-PM2 with lens is £230 new and a much better camera in my opinion. It's also a lot lighter and slightly thinner and shorter
