Been Looking to find a deal on the 3 sided Ambilight TV's and while this is only the 2 sided one it seems to be the best deal at present. Grade A2 seems to be much more preferable to the A3 as that claims to have some degree of obvious cosmetic damage.
You can of course get £10 off further with the which trial.

I picked up a 3 sided ambilight new for £365 a few weeks ago, think that deals over now but I’d hold out for something similar as the top light strip is the one that makes the biggest and best impact

This model is a 3 sided ambilight (I have the 6272) but it’s a terrible TV. Ambilight is the only good thing about it tbh.

It over processes the picture so looks terrible on dark scenes. Doesn’t blend MPEG video very well (looks like blocks of different blacks, rather than a gradual blend), HDR content you can’t adjust the picture, just select from a few presets which aren’t great (I turn HDR off on my PS4 it’s that bad, runs their proprietary smart software which is limited in apps and very slow, apps crash a lot, Philips TV support is terrible. We’ve had issues with the display since we bought it in Feb 2018 and it took until November for them to acknowledge there was an issue and fix it (backlight was faulty). Not bad at this price if you want Ambilight and you’re not too fussy about the picture and use Apple TV etc rather than the built in smart but all in all it drives my OCD mad!

This was a grey test screen on our set before repair, it should all be the same grey colour

That's horrible, I don't understand how mostly all TV deals are universally commended, I learned the hard way by buying Hisense, gave up after 6 months and bought Panasonic.

You can adjust HDR settings but need to be watching HDR content.

Stuff magazine gave this 5* and I’d agree at that price. Follow their settings to set it up for best effect. google.co.uk/amp…amp

Also the latest software update has improved the ambilight settings.

Also PS4 HDR is recommended off from most reviews I’ve seen.

i had many problems with my 50'' 6272 phillips CS not the best, but they answer the phone straight away which is nice. eventually returned mine to the store after 6mths as i gave up - so many faults! hdr is terrible on it, watched birdbox and the picture in certain scenes looked hideous! now have a 7000 series and big improvement. AO have them for less than £500 for the 50''. i also have a 55'' 6272 and thats going back tomorrow! dont know if it was fault with the 2017 6272 series? i would stay away from philips after all this agro but hey.. that ambilight!!
This tv is brill, just mind if playing films have it in movie mode, if u have in game mode u will get very bad quality with dark colours, modes are there for a reason
Bought one. Can't wait for delivery. Though it will take a few weeks!

You can’t adjust HDR settings if using the built in apps (Netflix 4K / HDR, Prime HDR). To do so you have to go to the main settings page, which closes the app and therefore you are no longer viewing HDR content and get standard picture settings. All you can do is switch between the built in HDR settings.

That’s different to what you posted. “HDR content you cant adjust the picture just select a few presets”

Once you adjust a preset it will save them settings. I can’t remember if it saves them if you change between defaults but I just matched the linked settings from stuff.tv for HDR and normal viewing and I’m very satisfied.

Yes but you have hdr presets as well as sdr presets, so unless you have a HDR input, not the built in apps, you can’t adjust those presets.

But fortunately for you you could run the PS4 in HDR mode adjust the settings and then turn off the PS4 HDR which is known to be bad.

I would imagine most people spending close to £400 on a TV will have an external HDR input of some kind.
The long and short of it is my opinion is that’s it’s a bad TV, even at this price. I wouldn’t recommend it as the hassle setting it up and problems I’ve had with it just aren’t worth it. I’d much rather put my money towards a more expensive decent TV than this TV.

Mine's been spot on for the last 11 months!
