Well, the predictions were right for you. Mine's sitting next to the telly and gets regular use. What games did you try?

Anyone know what version this is?
Good price, but I think its V1, if that matters to you.

Looks like this doesn't include the camera so not a fully working set unless you already have one.
Great price - heat!
V1 camera can be found for about £20 preowned.

Can you not use these without the camera then?
Amazing price!

Actually slightly prefer the V1 (just find it a bit more comfortable). Obviously doesn't have HDR passthrough mind.
Thanks, so what games I should pick up first guys?
That's too good to say no, have some heat

No - it's needed for head tracking (and the Move controllers if you have them).

Astro Bot - best game on PSVR bar none
Resident Evil 7, Bound, Thumper, Wipeout - great games that can also be played in non-VR if you don't get on with it

Once you've decided that you're happy with your purchase, buy a pair of Move controllers, SuperHot VR and Beat Saber

I had a similar view of all VR, until i tried it, and now there are PS4 games that i can only play in VR, Driveclub vr, Dirt rally, RE7, Wipeout omega and GTsport(although the later is just a few time trails and some free driving), ...and i paid full price for my PSVR and i do not regret it one bit, it is a very good system for the amount it costs, and is a utter steal at this price, and with Argos you got a years warrenty, so it's a no brainer

I never played any game(s) I simply set it up and turned it on - side note its a bit of a monstrosity cable wise - cool product though my comment was more on the price today compared to a year ago - i remember comments that it would drop heavily and it has - 200 for new - 100 here for og refurbished & trusted seller - no disrespect meant - good you use yours frequently

None taken :). The initial price was far too expensive yeah, I waited it out and got one about this time last year.
The cables are messy but I've mine set up and always ready to go, so I use some ties to make it a bit neater.
Apparently the PS5 won't need a breakout box for the next version so hopefully it won't look like a forest floor under the telly :).

In addition to Steven's suggestions, I'd also highly recommend Farpoint & Firewall Zero Hour - think Rainbow Six Siege in VR. Both require the Aim controller (at least to get the most out of them), but it's worth it IMO.

I’d hardly say it’s surprising, or uncommon for a new (niche) tech product to launch at a premium. The PS4 launched at £350. The Xbox One launched at £400+...both retail at half that now.

As for the deal, not a great price imo. I’d pay the extra £100 just to hint have someone’s sweat encrusted headset snuggly pressed against my face. The camera, newer version and extra games make buying new a much more enticing proposition I think.

I adore my PSVR. There are some brilliant games out for it now; more than I can keep up with to buy. I’m very excited for Gen 2 VR. The rumoured suggestions of the PS5 having it built in, with a higher resolution and greater controllers sound very exciting to me. It’s not a gimmick at all. I honestly think it’s the biggest shift in gaming since the jump from ps1 to ps2. You can’t really get a sense of how immersive it really is until you’ve popped a headset on, plugged in some good headphones and got into a decent game. It’s hard to go back after.
Love this day one buyer. It's a fantastic product. But I haven't used it enough to justify price I paid. Only down to motion sickness which is exacerbated by prescription medication. This is an amazing price however. And I wouldn't part with mine it's next level technology, vr is a game changer never been so immersed when I've had the chance to play. Good deal op.
If this is V1 then it isn’t worth getting, wouldn’t bother unless it’s V2.
Disinfect the controller.

What controller? Your own?

Why? If anyone isn't bothered coupling it with a PS4 pro then this is worth getting.

Why?

I've both.

V2 is a must if you need hdr and 4k passthrough.

Other than that they're identical, except I get slightly less "blur" on the V1 (think this is down to it simply fitting my massive head slightly better).
Because I, and many others, have PS4 Pro and 4k. PSVR1 Value is dropping like a stone for good reason. Come January it’ll be cheap as hell, most stores already made them dirt cheap to clear stock!

It's literally just the passthrough though?

Before we got a v2 (I have many kids) it was simply a case of using a £5 hdmi switch.

No difference other than that.

Can't see it dropping lower than this with a 12 month guarantee really.

My brother's one sits collecting dust. Was fun for like 2 weeks.
Yeah it's definitely a good price with that guarantee, I added heat. I'm just after a V2 and every time I see a deal it's a V1!

Really want VR in time for Ace Combat, the only game I really want VR for.
Certainly didn't want to put people off buying V1, original comment meant I personally wouldn't
looks like it's V2, but still low res. 1080p screen. it should be at least 1080p per eye

the Lenovo kit from deal (£100) a week or two ago is so much better! 1440 x 1440p per eye

The Lenovo doesn't have Astro Bot, Firewall, Wipeout, RE7 etc. :).
From memory (of my research), the V2 has a thinner cable.
The V2 was being sold for 170 with a game or two? (In fact the deals were much better than that around Black Friday).
The V1 (minus camera) but with free skin cells from previous owner is 110.

Heck, you could sell the V2 camera and whatever it came with and get the core unit for 110.. Alternatively, the V1 refurb will soon add up to the same price.

I don't see how this is actually a deal (bar the headline price)
I'll be picking up a brand new V2 system after work for £145, will post the deal this evening

Yeah, this deal probably only makes sense if you already have a camera and Wipeout or one of the other commonly bundled games.

The cable is a bit thinner/longer on the v2. It's not something I've ever really noticed tbh.

I suspect these will be brand new tbh.

My personal preference is the V1 in our house. Not much in it, but I just find the headstrap position works better for me.
