Can you download iTunes on these chrome books?

From Google Help
"iTunes on a Chromebook

iTunes isn't currently supported on Chromebooks, but you can unlock your music collection by moving it to Google Play Music, a free alternative service. This will make your music available for listening over the web on Mac, PC, Android, Chrome OS, and your iOS devices via third-party apps."

True but "moving" = uploading. And if he/she got lot of music it can be a pain in the ass to upload all his/her music.

Google Music is supposedly to recognise the songs that you have and they have so when you click upload it won't upload them but give you access to the ones on their cloud. However that system doesnt work very well and I always had to upload albums that google music already had...

For printing you need a cloud based printer which is pushing up costs.

That's very very tempting as I use a lot of Google's services.

Mmm....

Shame it doesn't come with an internationally recognised OS!

I had one of these, build quality is okayish and screen is a bit washed out, but the actual idea, of chrome as an os works really well if you are willing to make trade off's.

i currently have the hp one, build and screen quality on this are superb, keyboard is a joy to type on, i'd go as far as to say this is the machine i've enjoyed using most in the last few years, and i've owne dmacs and macbook airs in that time as well as asus transformer (both android and windows versions) i adore my hp one.

boots up in less than 7 seconds, and it saves on distractions .... it's just a cracking little second machine, also good for older people....

#2 bestseller at Amazon but when you factor in the 50% return rate it drops way down the list. That's why you can get refurbs on such a new product.
We trialed users on these and they were completely lost / disappointed. Worked ok for VDI-in-a-box though

is this most suitable for browsing, etc. Would office work on this? and what woudl it be like as a business laptop?

Be careful with refurbs of these. I bought one from Amazon Warehouse 'like new', and had no end of trouble with it. Damn thing kept crashing on me, and no amount of fiddling would fix it. Luckily, Amazon took it back and refunded me in full (about 6 months in, once I'd finally given up with it).

Also, watch the cover as it scratches incredibly easily. I bought a 'skin' for mine to cover up the scratches.

Replaced it with an Acer C720 which is fantastic. Far superior to the Samsung, imho.

You can use Google cloud print with any printer. It just needs to be connected up to a different machine. I print from my Chromebook to my old Epson printer, which is connected to my desktop PC.

I just sent back a 42 inch panasonic smart tv to Argos refurbs, it clearly was a return and had never been refurbed in its life and the packaging was non existant and had just been put in a big cardboard box. When i opened it surprise surprise it had a cracked LCD They are now telling me it will be up to 10 days to get my money refunded. Poor service and i wouldnt trust them as far as i could throw them! Be Warned!!

Yes to browsing

No to office (use google docs insstead)

Business laptop, er, dunno depends really, if you need to use a lot of windows programs for whatever your business does.

Seriously.....get the Toshiba 13.3" Chromebook or Acer 720 instead.

Not bad - heated
For those wanting a fatter OS experience, you could try Crouton (Linux)

Still no Skype functionality yet sadly...

FYI, you can install Linux on the ChromeBook...If you want a 'fully featured' OS.

Need an HP

There are good and bad things about Chromebook major plus is no security software required.

Kids have one and are never off it thank goodness that Samsung put a really good battery in this thing

Would I be able to use word etc on this?

They do have a paid option but you can upload your own songs from your computer and then stream them for free

Unfortunately not all software was compiled for ARM architecture. Better to get the Intel based Chromebooks if a linux distribution is to be used...
