Great... If you can get it to work! Shell app kept telling me I wasn't near a "fill and Go" station even though I was at the pump with the advertisements for it. Even with the fiver off their V power was expensive at nearly £1.40 a litre. Heat if you can get it though, and your local isn't a rip off!

It’s NOT back. If you have used it last month you can’t use it now...

Was just about to say the same thing

Still got last months can't use it because only station near me that has fill and go isn't listed and listed station doesn't have it.

Thanks for the reminder. I actually activated it this back with the last post, but haven't got around to doing it. Got a bit of a drive tomorrow so I'll use it then

Heated,

Thanks op!! When this first cam around shell's app and website was having issues and by the time I tried to save this I couldn't. Just tried again and got it. Thank you

Two tries, two different phones, same paypal authorisation error.
Last attempt for me tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Thanks OP. Got it activated.

Shell usually 5p more expensive than a supermarket in our area so not worth the effort and £5 worth doesn’t even fill a petrol can nowadays especially at £1.19!

... but Shell is better fuel, particularly that expensive stuff.

I've only got a Nissan Pulsar 1.4 diesel so Im going to keep putting in the cheapo supermarket goo instead of the expensivo Shell VVVPower and just make do with the performance dip. :-)

Same here at two different stations.

Might try re-installing the app and give it one more try.

Have to go use this! Paypal wasn't connecting last time i tried.

Completely useless. Took many tries before it would recognize the petrol station and when it did, the payment wouldn't work either. Shell's help page just blames Paypal and tells you to contact them.

Thanks OP. Used this this evening for the first time - first attempt I didn't realise I had to click on the Paypal link before filling up so paid cash for the first £20 and then tried again successfully, Initially app told me it couldn't find a Fill & Go station but I just waited a moment and eventually it found where I was. If this is a regular offer I'll be looking out for it again.

I had the same problem. Complete waste of time. Just kept getting error message and told to pay in store. Most time I have ever spent at a pump

I just called Paypal, it's freephone, and they refunded the money manually. They seemed to know Shell are problematic somehow.

paypal.com/gb/…all

They just closed, do it another day.

Hi. So you paid in store and then rang PayPal for the credit?

Yes.

And when their unhelpfully enigmatic automatic telephone system asks why you're calling, say something about a problem with a voucher. Or you'll go round in circles waiting for it to recognise the subject matter.

Gave them a call but no such luck. They told me everything looked spot on their end and to contact shell to see if they might give me a voucher for goodwill. Think I'll stick to paying with card going forward. Thanks for the tip though

If you can bothered I'd push them a bit harder because the guy I talked to clearly knew Shell has issues.

Maybe I was cut some slack for reason, who knows. I'll stick to avoiding Shell because their app suck.

Yeah I'm with you. Never understand why companies promote these new apps and they fall flat on their faces

I spoke with a reliable "man who knows all about diesels" a few years ago and he told me Shell was the best fuel. Not only that when I put the V-Power in my tank the increase in performance and the smoothness of the engine of my Peugeot 206 1.4HDi was breath-taking. If you want a nice smooth ride with more performance best go Shell

Here's a helpful "How it works" for anyone trying to get their head round this :
