A decent price for three of these sockets - they are usually above a tenner

Plug in your appliances and turn on/off remotely! Ideal when sockets are hard to reach - simply control your appliances from your armchair!

these work well , have been this price in my local Asda for months

I use these and they are excellent.

Very good if you have a hard to reach socket - under a desk or behind a cabinet etc...

Very good but been posted a few times.

how many more times is this going to be posted??

Been this price for ages, and as mentioned above gets posted every couple of weeks (always with the tagline of "normally £10-15" - even though they clearly arent...!).

Its a hot deal as its cheaper than elsewhere, but not voted coz its now standard price for Asda.

do these work throught walls, i.e. from a bedroom to a room downstairs. As I turn my router off at night to save energy and would save me a trip downstairs.

Shame these cheap ones are never X10 compatible..

Awesome, I will be popping to my local asda tomorrow to go hunting for one.

Kettle is always a good choice to hook these up to, another thing to use these with is a plug in air freshener no point leaving that on when everyone has gone to bed.

Guessing these are RF and not IR. Does anyone know of any cheap IR remote control sockets?

I saw this in Asda but noticed the remote uses a non standard battery right, where are you guys finding replacements from ?

Ebay. Bought a set last time around, everyone who saw them has been raving about it.
We have a set for the lamps downstairs, so when you go to be, you press 'all off' and no fumbling around in the dark looking for switches :()

Off to get some more today . Thanks OP

Are these in store or can they be ordered on-line as I looked on line and can see only ones for £20?

Leave a set in the Christmas tree box, much easier to turn tree lights off remotely than scrabble around in the corner under the tree.

Is this instore only? Cant find them any body fancy picking me up a pack?

are these on 433mhz? If so they are great for pranking as holding the button down stops many car remotes operating the central locking, or at least on the set we have.

Got last 2 in small heath, so believe none less, unless they restock in the day.

hot!. damn need to pop down my local asda asap, but i doubt they would have it, they dont have anything £5 for 3 is a bargain everywhere else is around £15 or higher

what department/section should i be looking for these ?
, i dont go asda often

You know how you get the iPhone to do remote things? do you think this would work with the iPhone

Lol, ingenious laziness!

Are these available online?

Can these hook up with Logitech Harmony controllers?

never ever in stock in my Asda

I remember getting these under the refund the difference price promise - cracking deal that was - I use them for turning off my TV which doesn't have a proper off switch, for a lamp and for my daughters digiphoto frame - very useful

Along with having my kettle on a remote I also have a rice cooker with delayed start which lets me start my day with a cuppa and a bowl of noodles/ chilli sin carne and rice/ veggie curry with rice/ sliced peppers, tomatoes and onion with rice and sliced hotdogs which will be cooked just as I wake up.

lol fantastic, ill be getting me some of these next time i go to asda

GENIUS Never thought of this.

not really an offer is it,these have been this price for months now

So lazy, I love it.

If i could add double heat i would these are excellent i got mine about a year and a half ago never once had a problem with them heat + rep added.

Sounds obvious, but I'd apply a little caution with these things...Just ask yourself "would I just pull the plug out?"

If it's a lamp, it's probably not a huge deal, turning the toaster on and off at the wall probably won't hurt it...but when you start talking about electrical goods, TVs, computers and the like, I think it's best to be careful.

My parents used something similar to this to turn all their DVD players, consoles etc off over night - two of the DVD players stopped working pretty quickly...

I have these all over the house - superb. Just connect a 4 way adapter to one and you can switch off your TV, amp, DVD, PS3 etc all in one go.

Also great to use on outside lighting (obviously plug inside) works almost 20 yrds away so you can turn your lights on from in the car - great in winter.

How's that work, surely you need to flick the switch on the kettle itself as well?

in store only ? can only see some at £34 for 3 on the website

As long as you can flick the switch on your kettle and it stays flicked even with no power then it's fine. I've only had one kettle that was weird and the switch wouldn't stay down if it had no power, but loads of toasters just won't have it.
