hey guys,

My first time posting here so sorry if i get it wrong. If like me you have an LCD TV, Xbox, DVD player etc that only goes onto standby then these remote operated plugs from Maplin are ideal. The set enables you to switch up to 4 appliances on and off at the press of a button. Currently only £24.99 instead of the usual £39.99

surely the kids would just pull the plug out of it and stick it right into the mains?, i remeber when my mum tried that by taking the plug away and i just re-wired it back up:pirate:.

anyway good deal, nice find.

maybe, maybe not. but my gf's sister is the one that annoys me lol

you should wait a while and keep a look out at Aldi.they have a similar set in a few times a year for £15.weve got a few sets.they are the perfect thing for all your christmas lights.on the Aldi sets(and probably these) you can link as many sets together which then enables you to switch on/off all your christmas lights at once.the little one loves pressing the button and seeing all the lights come on.thats her job every night at christmas.:)

Awwww that's so cute

Worth checking what power consumption these "plugs" have compared with the standby cosumption of the item you are switching.

Last time I looked at something similar they had the same power consumption as an LCD TV on standby (4-5W), BUT you also had the extra batteries that needed replacing so in environmental terms you'd be worse off.

YMMV - Rufus.
