Not German with chrome and masses of led lights...cold...for most!

However, great drivers car - makes your bum hurt a bit on poor roads :-)

More than makes your bum hurt. Got given a normal megane as a company car. Most uncomfortable car I've ever had the displeasure of driving. The seat, wheel and pedals are all out of alignment due to a poor, cheap right hand drive conversion. That's without getting onto the touch screen satnav you can't actually reach!

I've driven many, many cars and apart from a Matiz, the megane is the worst car ever.

God knows why there are so many on the road, people clearly don't test drive and are just attracted by the massive discounts that they have to offer to sell the dam things!

Rant over!

Can't comment on long term ownership. I've had a go in an older version of this and loved the way it felt - direct steering, plenty of feel and lots of grip. Exceptional for a hatch. But agree, I'd avoid Renault if parting with my own cash!

same goes for vauxhall. Ugly dull poorly made cars with terrible quality and awful chassis and handling. But they sell loads, probably due to deals... But do buyers test them beforehand

absolute nonsense. Had a megane in Spain last year as a hire car was a really nice drive. Also had a focus hire car in Ireland and a Leon courtesy car after an accident and although they are all very different inside ride quality is very similar. My favourite of the 3 was the Leon but that was only due to it being fully specced out.

Not really - The Wheel, Seat and Pedal are all out of alignment with each other. Couldn't drive for more than an hour to an hour and a half without having to stop and get out. The i40 that they replaced it with I can do a 4 hour trip to Glasgow none stop in it. Also my previous Octavia I could easily do a 4 hour+ journey without having to stop and no doubt it will be the same for my Golf R when I go away in that as that is one of the most comfortable seats I have sat in (bar an Old Vauxhall Omega Elite which was unbelievably comfortable!)
Not sure I'd lease a French car they depreciate like crazy, is a lease really worth it on a Renault? I guess it makes more sense than buying one, you'd lose a shedload of cash if you did.

Your point makes no sense. If you lease a car depreciation is irrelevant, it will never be your problem.
How do people see out of these things?? Seriously, I hired one in France and the 'A' pillar is so thick and steeply inclined that it was really hard to place on twisty roads. Ok, I'm tall, unlike most French drivers, I guess, but it was a menace. The blind spot on acute junctions was easily big enough to hide a motorbike. Do the designers ever leave their CAD screens and actually drive them on real roads? Took the hire car back after a week and exchanged it for a Polo. *So* much better ...

Not entirely sure you know what leasing a car means...

Have either of you ever owned a Vauxhall VXR8? I have and you cannot call that a dull, poorly made car with terrible quality and awful chassis and handling .MPG was somewhat poor but it is to be expected.

Lump of rubbish.

Splitting hairs, its a Vauxhall in the UK.

For the people who like the look of this car probably another £100/month for insurance.
Great deal. Great motor.

I'm just waiting for that one guy who frequently trolls these deals with 'only idiots lease cars. I bought my first car with cash because I got paid £45k a year as soon as I left uni' etc etc

Hardly. It's got a vauxhall badge. That's it.

It's neither vauxhall or built by them. I have driven a 1970s holden v8 though

They had one on long term test 12 months plus and rated it their best hot hatch.

Also this is a lease deal... you don't own the vehicle.

If you are 18 maybe but not if you are a grown up so a bit of a stupid point.

As for the car being a Renault, Renault now share many parts with Honda probably the most reliable manufacturer in the world. More over, most cars these days are built with parts made by outside manufacturers so almost all share parts. Just look how crap the Germans have become at making cars, VW's these days are just cheap skodas underneath, you just pay for a badge and a suit.

Most of the Vauxhall range aren't really Vauxhall if you want to be techincal it's a UK brand for Opel or is it General Motors?

Anyway, isn't this actually a Nissan?

Not that I care, I still own a bullet proof German built Astra and an Audi, or is it a Skoda, VW, SEAT, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley or Bugatti?

I give up... It's a blue car.
Cold. I can buy a used XR3I for less, better performance, turns more heads, and mine to keep

I hope Nissan don't find out about Honda. Could ruin the alliance.

You've got so used to pasting that comment on every lease deal, you failed to notice the 275bhp.

We get it. Lots of you don't like Renaults, and hot Meganes in particular. This car is not for me, but I would consider it if I had no sprogs and would respect drivers more than those lacking a bit of soul in their very good hot Golfs and S3s. Hot...
Does it come with a black and white stripy t-shirt and a string of onions as standard?

Can you share where you got your info from?
Never heard of Honda sharing anything with Renault
