12 Month minimum term and £30 admin cost with first month paid in arrears £44 first payment I wouldn't call that good

Do you know what, I don't think this is a bad deal.

In the past I have bought consoles just to play one specific game. If I could rent the console for £15 for a month and be done with it, that would be a lot better than having to fork out £200 plus the price of the game.

Thanks for sharing OP. This clearly isn't a deal for everyone, but I am sure this will help someone.

It's £198 for the full term minimum 12 Months (without insurance for damage) including the admin cost, and then your down £200 without anything to show for it

booooo get this off here

I hate these companies that exploit the neediest

Me too i thought sounded too good to be true lol

i thought this deal was great then read the comments and yeah its not. However it was actually £3.23 p/w with no minimum term rental and maybe a £10 admin charge (whatever thats for) then yeah itd be good. You could rent it to play sunset overdrive for a couple of weeks then send it back. The whole renting a console thing has potential, but when it comes out to nearly £200 to borrow it then it really isnt worth it. either save and buy it or buy a 2nd hand one from a local game store/ebay etc

You have to be insane to do this. You have the choice of buying a console, sell it later and make something back or rent it for the same price and return it? Get this off. Awful.

Agreed. Everyone seems to forget that for a lot of people paying the £179 or whatever up front just isn't possible. They will huff and puff about "don't buy what you can't afford" which is a noble sentiment but isn't it understandable that people with little cash might still want to give their kids some fun instead of having to do without? I just wish there was something like this on a rent to own or similar - then it might make sense.

We had no cash growing up. All my friends had Atari and then Sega consoles and one even had a Neo Geo!! My parents use to take me out on weekends to the beach, even in winter to look in rock pools etc, out for walks and even just played in the garden with me.

Fun isn't constrained by finance, it's constrained by some parents inability to put time into their kids and the easy solution of plonking them in front of a TV/console for hours at a time.

This deal is terrible.

There is so much truth in this post right here. Don't bother put the time and effort in to actually bringing up your children. Stick them infront of a TV or a games console or just give them a iPad. Should keep them quiet lol.

You know there's something wrong with society when you look at your social media and see a parent post a picture of the other parent and 2 kids who aren't even in double digits sitting on a sofa all with faces buried in their iPad's with a hashtag of #familytime. I mean really lol. What a sorry state of affairs.

As for the deal itself it's cold for me. The price of this over a year is £197.96. Made up of a £30 admin fee and £167.96 in rental over a minimum period of 1 year.

You can get a brand new XBox S Minecraft Bundle for £179 at Simply Games.

I believe in living within your means but if you're that desperate to have one get a 0% credit card for 12 months, buy the XBox from Simply Games, and pay off £3.44 per week. It's cheaper and it actually belongs to you when it's paid off.

Companies like this are here to exploit people who want things they can't afford right now. There are better means of getting that XBox. Don't fall for this deal.
