Found this last night at the Long Eaton Asda in Nottingham. Thought it was a pretty good deal and they may have it in other Asda stores too.

People should just forget about looking in West Bridgeford Asda as they have NO offers ful stop, Thurmaston (Leicester) has VERY LITTLE but atleast its more that WB

Good price on this though, sorry for going off topic, have some heat

I think a lot of the Asda deals of late have been very store specific.

I was in Cardiff Gate Asda last night and they ddn't have this, but the DID have 3:10 to Yuma reduced to £7.50.

They may just manually reduce what that particular store hasn't shifted.

That said.... great price if you can get it

if you cant find this, play have the special petrol can edition for £8.99, i bought one last week:thumbsup:

these cheap asda blu rays seem to be here and there if lucky, not really a full deal if they have one they have one as i went in stockport and they didnt have anything in

They have it listed as £17.99 at the moment.

I was told that buying these old films in Blue Ray is a waste of money as the films were not shot with modern technoligy film equipment and the old dvd format that you could have bought for £3 with a dvd recorder that has a 1080 upscaler can produce near enough the same quality. I'm sure there are a few techno's out there that will prove me wrong.

Asides from anything this was filmed in 1992!! Hardly the "olden days"

The only that won't be filmed in higher than 1080 are many 80s tv shows which were filmed on video so you'll likely never see the A-team on Blu-Ray for example.

A mate just bought a copy yesterday, it was the limited edition Petrol can blu-ray for a £5 from ASDA

Quality can vary, depending on the state of the source material and how much effort the company producing the Blu-ray puts into the release.

According to H-Def digest,

Lionsgate has minted a new high-def master to mark the occasion, and the … Lionsgate has minted a new high-def master to mark the occasion, and the upgrade is readily apparent. The previous disc releases had a washed out look that was way too harsh, and suffered from a color shift towards green. This new remaster is a sharp improvement, and one that fans who have memorized every frame of this film should definitely notice.Lionsgate properly frames 'Reservoir Dogs' at 2.35:1 widescreen, and the 1080p transfer is encoded in MPEG-2. The source has held up well, with appropriate film grain that remains consistent. Contrast is no longer too hot, giving the movie a more pleasing, natural sense of depth. Colors appear correct at last, with that sickly green tint removed and fleshtones generally accurate, if a little red at times. Overall detail on this Blu-ray version is clearly heightened versus the new standard-def release; the famous shot of the gang walking down the street framed against a long background wall, for example, reveals better texture and improved sharpness. There is still a bit of softness, with some of the white-on-black of the costumes and framing appearing slightly edgy. I suspect a bit of artificial boosting of sharpness was done to compensate. But all in all, 'Reservoir Dogs' has certainly never looked better.

So there!

need to watchi this
