Resident Evil 7 biohazard is the next major entry in the renowned Resident Evil series and sets a new course for the franchise as it leverages its roots and opens the door to a truly terrifying horror experience. A dramatic new shift for the series to first person view in a photorealistic style powered by Capcom’s new RE Engine, Resident Evil 7 delivers an unprecedented level of immersion that brings the thrilling horror up close and personal.

Set in modern day rural America and taking place after the dramatic events of Resident Evil® 6, players experience the terror directly from the first person perspective. Resident Evil 7 embodies the series’ signature gameplay elements of exploration and tense atmosphere that first coined “survival horror” some twenty years ago; meanwhile, a complete refresh of gameplay systems simultaneously propels the survival horror experience to the next level.

I go against the grain on this one, I love 5 & 6 but these ones didn't do it for me.

incredible game, really enjoyed it. Got 12 hours out of it by exploring every nook & cranny, otherwise could blow through it in about 8.

it's not sold much apparently, presumably people put off by short length. it's a shame I hope capcom don't go back to dark days if Res evil 6

PC sales, on their own? Otherwise it debuted at Number 1 in the charts this week and is the 3rd best week one selling title of the series. It hasn't done that bad!

It sold 2.5 million copies in the first few days, which is pretty great.

This is starting to drop nicely... I can wait however

They shipped 2.5 million copies, not sold.

Great game though, not normally my sort of thing but I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yep also enjoyed it and completed in 11 hours 20 :P I also think 8 hours is doable for most seasoned players.

6 burnt a lot of people, it's hard to get that trust back.

7 is actually very good, just try to stay away from the Internet when you get stuck on it, I would deffo recommend it

I'd have some of that... I can add it then to "the list." (_;)

good very gooood. i am patient mand and I dont want to pay more than 17.99. two more weeks I say.

What's the Facebook code? The link doesn't work to obtain it

This is gonna drop in price due to low replayability and short play time.
I will wait till £14.99, probably in a couple of months.

Just been reading about the flagging sales in comparison to RE6's launch, trying to put a finger on why (as a consumer). Quite an interesting read actually

Resident Evil 7 Sales Figures

Personally, I just hated RE6 and i think alot of fans did too, so maybe its partly a ripple effect from that? Also now everyone is hearing about the short replay value and coupled with the fact its an FPS and doesn't really tie in to the series in terms of story. Could it be combination of all these things? Maybe too much of a drastic change for the series, it's putting people off?

I suspect the steady decline in quality of games since 4 has just led to a collective "meh" when it comes to a new RE, regardless of how good it is. It's really difficult for a games series to stay popular, and the only ones that have really done it have achieved it by continually releasing quality titles - something the RE series hasn't done at all!

I for one will get this, as I love FPS' and survival horror games, but I do wonder about the series' future...

I've said this a few times when cd-keys are posted up. I love a good deal as much as the next person (maybe more so) but Telltale Games have personally told me that the keys from cd-keys website are illegally obtained and therefore I don't buy anything from cd-keys anymore. I know some people don't care and just want the game - but I truly want to support the developers and keep them in the job, along with all the voice actors etc etc. Just letting people know so you can make your own decision.

I'm pretty sure if they were illegal they would've been caught by now

Oh my lord, this "support the devs" malarky again. It doesn't mater where you purchase an item from or how much for. It still goes as a license "sold". Devs get payment upfront these days upon completion of a game with sometimes further recompense if the game does certain numbers so ALL sales help. Its videogames not fish that will net more the more they sell for.

They said that the key that I had was a hacked key (aka a key that was on their system but hadn't been purchased yet). I have absolutely no reason not to believe them. Therefore, I stand by what I say: cd-keys appears to use illegal means to get the keys. I personally don't want to be giving my money to crooks and so I don't shop there. If you like them - that's fine. I'm just informing people so they can make the appropriate choices

CD-Keys has become a big website. One of the 'go to' websites for many gamers. Surely a website that big and selling so many would have had some legal action against them by now if in fact they were selling illegal keys?

I think maybe they could be something like grey imports but illegal hack codes? Surely not.

I also like to support my favourite developers eg. I purchased all The Witcher games directly from GOG.
But if its a game I'm not sure about and there is a saving to be had.... cd-keys all the way!

You don't understand what you're talking about. Sites like cd-keys likely use a key-generator to create their keys. Thus when someone purchases a legit key and the key doesn't work - it's because someone has knowingly/unknowingly purchased a key online. Case in point: years ago I bought Battlefield 2142 on the PC. I couldn't wait to get home and rip it open. I put the online key in and guess what - it had been used. What?! A brand new, sealed game from the store. I went to EA Games and EA Games said there was a problem with keys being generated/sold in Russia. However, EA said they couldn't do anything for me and to get a refund from the store.

Ultimately, the game store refunded me, but the manager there explained the store loses out and EA will lose that sale. I was left with the main BF2142 game in my Origin library but no valid key to download/play it. I didn't chance buying another key so I just played it at a friends house.

TL;DR - "Support the devs" is a completely valid argument.

P.S Anyway - i'm not going to debate it. The fact Steam actually BANNED the term 'cd-keys' speaks volumes. They didn't censor GOG, Origin, Amazon etc

Does it speak volumes?

There is alot of talk from people claiming the keys to be illegal, quite honesty I believe it is publisher propaganda from those who probably feel under cut. It is in the best interest of Valve to sell a product through steam where they take a large sum of the profit. So, is that not a big enough motive to ban the word?

I find it unrealistic that CDKeys use a key generator, I don't think this is the late 90s bro.

Either way you have had bad experiences but if you ask me these seem to be in the minority.

What speaks volumes to me is how publishers and providers will quite happily ban or remove access to games without providing a user solid proof that a vendor has acquired a code illegally. I would love to see their investigation reports, if they produce them...

You raise a fair point - you don't have to use sarcasm with the 'bro' thing though.

cracking game, took me 12 hours playing slow, well worth it - best RE game since RE 4

Apologies, it wasn't supposed to come across as a sarcastic remark. It was more to lighten the tone of my reply.

Tbh right or wrong the consumer will never know. There doesn't seem to be any facts or proof out there but this is the internet after all :).

I have read a few negative news reports of Origin banning 'stolen' keys which were allegedly being sold by CDKeys but I don't know how legitimate the claims are.

You could take their word for it, what with EA being a big reputable company but personally I feel there is more to the story. Either way, I know it involves one thing money.

Touch wood I have never had a problem.
