I have yet to play either so plan to play through the 1st before trying the second. Good to know that the 2nd one is better
Dave.

I played 10 minutes of this and gave up - didn't like it at all.

Personally I thought it was the mutts, the atmosphere and the general sense of British-ness spirit in it.
Still in my collection.

Great game, I enjoyed it from start to finish. Well worth the price.

Gamespot gives it a rating of 8.6.
"Resistance successfully combines many of the best qualities from other great first-person shooters with spectacular visuals and a few novel twists."

I think it's a great game and better than Resistance 2, mostly due to the atmosphere and blending the familiar British setting with the mysterious alien things. Resistance 2 has less mystery and atmosphere.

Not played this one but didn't like Res 2. Very average with PS2 level graphics IMO

For all those decide to purchase then you may like to know:
1) The DLC which previously cost a few quid is now free.
2) A patch is available which provides rumble/force feedback (ie dualshock support). To install this you must select the online part of the game, obviously the producers considered the game to be perfect so only checks for patches whilst playing online.

Thanks for the info - rep added.
Anyone considering this deal may also be interested in the argos deal where it is available new for a few quid more.

Cheers Dave.
The only other thing I would add is that I found the demo (available on PSN) very difficult, however I still purchased the game and played it on EASY mode (normally I play games on medium difficulty). I've since completed it again but on MEDIUM level.
So basically I'm saying don't let the difficulty of the demo put anyone off.

That's true. I think the demo is a poor representation of the game. It's quite hard because it doesn't have the health system that becomes key later on, and it's also a boring level compared to many later in the game.
