was in tesco parkhead today and there was a couple of these alarm systems reduced to £14 from £59.

No idea about them but seems a good price if you can find them!

I picked one up in Irlam at £35 which I thought was good-ish, this price is a no brainer for a simple wireless system. I bought hoping that the sensors will sync with the Yale, same frequency (433) and have a sync mode.

have you tried the syncing? I've got the Yale could do with another bell box

which model please?

they have some in.at batley

The Yale and Friedland protocols are totally different, you can't use different sensors with other alarms. You need a lot more than just the frequency to be the same.

I know this is cheap, but they aren't very good and you will struggle to get additional detectors. If you are serious about security and want to fit an alarm, get something like a Pyronix Enforcer or Texecom Premier Elite. Will be £250 for the parts, but it will last a lot longer, battery life is better, and the functionality much improved.

This alarm was the only alarm I looked at that was prevented from working by normal transmissions on the same frequency - a Friedland wireless doorbell for example.

Not yet, will do this weekend and let you know

There were some cheapish cameras tesco were selling too. I've got one aimed up my back passage and already caught a young man trying to break in.
