Admittedly saw a Facebook video of these gadgets and looked into them further as seemed a really good idea. eBay has fake ones from China for about £3 and real ones from £10.75 for black colour. Checked Amazon and best price per one is £8.47 each in a two pack - bought one for me and one for a family member. They get excellent reviews and although I sincerely hope I never have to use it, I think it's an important thing to have handy should you ever be trapped in your car. £8.95 for single. Free delivery at these prices on Prime or if like me you are Primeless, I added a £4 item to get above the £20 minimum delivery cost.

"When every second matters, make sure you're ready and equipped for unexpected situations. With 10+ years of saving lives and nearly 3 million units sold worldwide, the resqme car escape tool with key chain is ideal for car entrapment scenarios (including water submersion, rollovers, fire and more) with two main features that can potentially save your life. The resqme can 1) cut jammed seat belts and 2) break side windows that won’t open in the case of power failure or locked doors. Assist your vehicle passengers and other motorists who are in danger in just 3 easy steps (pull, cut, break) with a tool that's always within reach when you need it. Compact and lightweight, yet powerful, the resqme car escape tool is easy and safe to use."

Great practical gift for any driver and perhaps especially those tricky to buy for teens!

Great way to promote a device for kids to go round smashing car windows. …Great way to promote a device for kids to go round smashing car windows. 🤔

wtf? i 100% think kids who wish to smash car windows will do so with whatever their neglectful parents have lying around. In what weird thought process is a member posting a deal about a safety device "promoting" kids smashing windows?

Stones are incredibly plentiful, funny enough they can be picked up almost anywhere, even at the scene, no need to carry them.

I was shocked to see someone listing a cheap mobile phone deal today - don't they realise that kids could get the phone and use it to arrange a drug deal or maybe a gang fight! People these days are so irresponsible.

...or, for the ultimate in safely escaping, why not drive around without a seatbelt and all the windows rolled down?
My windows are laminated all round

Its a strange philosophy i agree, same as with knifes, bad people will only use "illegal knifes" but wouldn't dream of misusing a kitchen knife.

don't you know that loads of kids are buying these off Amazon with their plentiful funds because I promoted it here on HUKD? Julian Dean is far too clever to consider stones (and indeed far too clever to ever even post a deal himself...)

I'm sorry, I'm too simple to understand your obviously superior intellect. Why would carrying around a DEVICE MADE TO BREAK CAR WINDOWS IN AN EMERGENCY cause LESS suspicion than READILY AVAILABLE STONES??? What kids are looking to order things to break car windows on HUKD? Go off trolling, fool

You can always use the headrest

possibly, but many would think to do so in an emergency; you'd also struggle if you'd sustained an umber body injury or if the roof has deformed... couldn't cut a seatbelt with the headrest either.

I don't have one of these (a few good knives and a torch with a glass breaker in the car) but its one of those things that would be invaluable if ever needed.

Yes used mine quite a few times at work, on non laminated windows very effective
I've used them three times now. Once on an old caravan window to test it out, worked a treat! Second time on the drivers window of a car. As I didn't have time to put gloves on before use I got a few little scratches were my hand went right through the window. And the final time was on a double glazed UPVC door. It even worked on this, treating each layer of the double glazing as a seperate pane of glass (so needed two separate pumps).

I carry mine all the time.

But this isn't a good price, I got mine off e-bay for £1 including delivery. It's a knock off, but works exactly the same as the expensive ones.

Not many people are aware of this. That’s why a headrest is detachable and has pointy ends..... specifically designed to break windows. Not sure about the need to cut your seatbelt. This isn’t the movies, they are designed to release even after a crash. Would be a bit of a bad design if it didn’t...

Seem to remember hearing that if you're upside down (your weight on the seatbelt) it can be difficult / impossible to release the buckle? May not be the case in modern cars?

Its just a bit of metal though - do you really think there are aspiring car thieves out there, scratching their heads wondering how on earth they are going to break a glass window? The only thing stopping them nicking cars is one of these tools?

Yes, because a glass window is most definitely the hardest part of stealing a car. Once in (and sat on the broken glass) a car just magically starts itself.

It's almost as if (for your more discerning criminal, one who doesn't like to use a brick) a £1 centre punch hasn't been available for over 100 years.

"A god send for car thieves". Brilliant. I am hoping though, you were just being super sarcastic with your whole post.
