It is a deal from Farmfood so not famed for the best quality, but these are actually quite good, we have tried them twice and have been impressed both times.
They are nice thick cut with great marbling so they are nice and juicy. I seasoned mine with salt n black pepper then cooked for two hours in the sous vide at 54.4C followed by a quick pat with a paper towel to dry them off then 1 minute each side on a very hot weber cast iron charcoal grill. If you go to the farmfoods website you can download and print vouchers for up to 10% off.

i smell meat glue

I brought these and fried them, they were tough and chewy - very disappointing, however did the second pack in the oven and they were brilliant. Says on the packet they are from Argentina. Would definitely buy again at this price.

Wow. Nearly as bad as how companies still get away with using Teflon and other dangerous chemicals....... Money and greed!
Thanks, I'll take a look

All 4 packets that have bought state Born in Uruguay, raised in Uruguay, slaughtered in Uruguay, but cut and packed in the UK.
As i understand it Uruguayn beef is 100% grass fed, hormone and antibiotic-free and they are a good bit older cattle than those slaughtered here in the UK. I would still prefer to buy british but at this price i let my taste buds and wallet decide.

I can't be the only one wondering what a sous vide is?

Sous vide (/suːˈviːd/; French for 'under vacuum'),[1] also known as low temperature long time (LTLT) cooking,[2][3][4] is a method of cooking in which food is placed in a plastic pouch or a glass jar and cooked in a water bath for longer than usual cooking times (usually 1 to 7 hours, up to 72 or more hours in some cases) at a precisely regulated temperature. The temperature is much lower than usually used for cooking, typically around 55 to 60 °C (130 to 140 °F) for meat, higher for vegetables. The intent is to cook the item evenly, ensuring that the inside is properly cooked without overcooking the outside, and to retain moisture

It is the best most foolproof way of cooking a steak that I have found yet.

If you actually boil something instead of Sous Vide you will be sorely dissapointing.
Hmm, I have a sous vide machine in the back of a cupboard somewhere!
