RESTOCKED - (PS4) Persona 5 £23.99 @ Argos

Found 25th Mar
This is a repost and it’s technically broken the “1 month” repost rule but stock had just about died out on the post from the 11th March. I have recently looked and it’s just about available (albeit a wait at some) at all stores near me.

Cheers mate, really helped me out with this. I was going to et it digitally with all the dlc when it was on sale again but I'd rather have a physical copy.
Yea, I noticed it was restocked the other day and got a copy.
Thanks just reserved it, going to be busy with ni no kuni 2, yakuza 6, god of war and persona 5 to deal with
Looks amazing, only after looking at trailer etc
Been in my local forever, keep contemplating gettin it, if it sells out I'd want it more
Thanks finally got it.
Insane price if you can find one. So cheap
I am so tempted to get this but promised myself only under £20. If Nier can go under £20 this can too.

That seems so illogical to me. You're denying yourself game time over £3-4?

I know i know but I already bought some games already this month. I need to put some limits on my spending.

I got it at full price and it's well worth it coz I finished the game in 126 hours! So you get your moneys worth
Finally in stock and ordered... I've waited so very long...
My favourite game of last year. Persona 3 came out in 2006 and is still enjoyed today. If you can see why 3 and 4 are enduring, then you really can't go wrong with this, as this is really improved with a generational leap.
I bought complete edition for 35 digital and then put 130 hours into first play through and don't regret it paying what I did

...so that is why there is hardly anyone around out and about. Most are stuck to the screens - literally...

In fairness, he probably didn't sink all 130 hours in one sitting.

Oh, and by literally, I hope you mean figuratively, as I'm about to play my ps4 before bed and it'll be difficult to sleep with my TV stuck to my face.

How would this game welcome a newcomer to the series? The only thing putting me off is the learning curve. Thanks

the game isn't overly difficult (and you can change the difficulty if it is or isn't difficult enough), especially if you're not too concerned with maxing out all of the social links on a first playthrough, as some of the difficulty comes with trying to complete a dungeon with minimal visits (so that you have more time with social links) - the first dungeon in the game was the most difficult for me as I was a little under leveled - the tutorials are fairly thorough overall and once you get the hang of the gameplay then things should be ok in respect to learning curve

by the second to third dungeon onwards I became familiar with which party members had which types of attacks which would best suit the enemies weaknesses making progress easier

in terms of the newcomer thing - each game is stand alone - so no previous experience of persona games is needed

Thanks - sounds like I’ll be picking up my reservation then!

Cheers for the heads up @loopylloyd
One trillion percent heat. Best ps4 title, just behind Horizon and TLoU for me. Gone back to finally finish P4G now, can't get enough of this stuff.
I tried to put this up last week but had it refused as there was already a thread going. There was loads of stock everywhere then but not now.

got it thanks for posting deal. but ive just started zelda so i guess this will have to wait lol
I think Guilty Gear is the better more popular game. Hope you can find a match online.
£23.99? I never saw it coming.
Overrated but definitely worth a play. Just lower your expectations a notch so you can enjoy the experience more. 4/5 if you're a casual fan of anything RPG or Japanese.

£24 is a very good price for the amount of gameplay you'll get out of it.

The plot is entirely self contained, you don't need to know anything else about the other games in the series (there are some subtle Easter eggs that refer to Persona 4).

In terms of difficulty this is one of the easiest games produced by the company (who admittedly produce some extremely tough RPGs). The most complex mechanics involve merging personas but generally that's trial and error and you quickly learn what abilities you need and what weaknesses/strengths they need.

Only thing to be aware of is that although it isn't difficult is can be unforgiving, you NEED to save at every save point you come across. Towards the end of the game it can be 40 minutes between save points and it's possible for you to get in a fight where every enemy hits the main character before you can act, resulting in an instant, unavoidable game over (you can continue for boss battles but dying to regular enemies is a game over).

Thanks for the detailed feedback - I collected my copy yesterday and look forward to playing this since watching Hollie and Rob from PlayStation Access being very very excited for its launch about a year ago but was never sure if it was one for me.... we’ll soon find out
Explore lots, try new things, and follow your heart. Have no regrets - there is always New Game+ if you want to get more of the completion

Just to add... looking at a popular FB gaming group. Someone got Persona 5 from Argos and it looks like a resealed game with no Sony tearstrip... worth checking as it appears Argos potentially reseal returned games... I don’t think this is right if true.
