Retention deal 200mb Broadband only £27 at Virgin Media / 100mb broadband only for £21

My contract is coming to end in 3 weeks time. I called them in and said I wanted to cancel last week. They have rang a few times and I finally answered. They offered me 100mb broadband only for £21. I asked the price for 200mbps and was told it would be £27. What do you guys think?! Should I continue with my cancellation or should I accept this deal as it does seem to be good for me.

cold because retentions are not deals, they are one offs for individual customers.

I pay £26 for 100 meg Broadband and line rental.
Considering I pay more for 76mb fibre (Highest available in my area) I would snap 200mb up for £27.
Both deals are good. Depends if you need the extra 100mb. Think 100mb is more than enough for most people. I took 100 mb and line rental for £28. Wish I'd held out for the broadband only deal now.
Took 100mb/tv/tel/6mths netflix for 28...would rather have BB only for 21...great retention deal imo
I pay £20 for 100mb with basic TV and line rental paid separately for the year. So this deal seems reasonable for broadband only.
Best they offered me is £33 for 200mb vivid only, no phone or TV. It's a lottery with VM.

£24 for 50mb (no line rental) was the best i could get and that took a good 30 min discussion with a moron who insisted 50mb was no good for my needs. I like Virgins product but i hate the CS and the games you have to play to get the same deals offered to new customers. £27 all in for 200mb is a cracking deal as Virgin like you to take TV & Phone and don't usually offer much on BB only.

should really be in misc like the other retention deals, not available to all, you might not even get a call from retention's.
They offered me the retention at £21 for 100MB too, plus a £100 bill credit. I still turned them down, so fed up with bad service.

Now using the EE data SIM. £15 a month for 30GB allowance, which is enough for me. Portable abroad too.

It is awful. I’m now paying £53 for 200mb and I’d rather not go through the ‘cancel’ and change my mind thing.
I was recently offered 350mb and phone line for £31.
I joined last year as a new customer with a deal they were offering which was 200mbit for £31/month (no phone or TV} on a 12 month contract. After the first year when the price went up considerably, I called in to cancel and tried my best to haggle with the retentions department but the best I could get them down to was £37/month for 200mbit, despite me going ahead with the cancellation. I never received any calls back from their retentions department either. So it seems entirely hit and miss with these VM retentions deals.
Good deal I paid £35 for 100mb tv phone
Do detentions usually offer a 30 day rolling contract or it's always 12 months?

Exactly this. Its useful information to know what is possible.
I recently took a retention deal with them. £50pm for 200mb BB, XL TV and line rental. Not and incredible deal but pretty good. Not had an issue at all with VM customer service. When my router broke they sent an engineer within 48 hours who came and replaced and reconnected.
My bb and line rental has gone from £15.47 to £23.47 I pay upfront for the phone line retention said bast thay can do if I cancel I would lose 6 month line rental I have paid about £100
Why cold? What provider gives you now this speed at cheaper prices. The best I found for £21 is Vodafone 38 and Now Tv for £20.
Paying £21 for 200MB + Phone line
I pay £18/month - 50mb broadband only ... You need to be prepared to speak to retention: find cheaper offers tell them about it, you are not heavy user, I pay £... I've been with you ...years, bills're paid on time, new customers are treated better because ....................... and so on ...

Makes my 33 quid for 200 vivid only look positively expensive. First year was 200 vivid and full house TV for 34. Retentions were rubbish for me.

Though if I went with talk talk max fibre speed for be is around 50 meg and it dropped connection all the time due to distance from exchange. It would be about 28 quid I think so 33 ain't bad for the speed.

nah, you cant. oh i saw someone say they got this for x amount of money, sorry this is what im offering, take it or leave it.
Get the 200mbs as the 100mbs has an upload speed of 6mbs compared to the 12mbs for the 200.
I'm moving house and said I was going to go with BT at the new property. In the ned I got 200mb, phone line and TV box for £31 a month. I was previously paying £58 a month for 200mb and line rental. I'm quite happy with that for a year...
