I'm with Talk Talk on £25 per month

Just phoned them and got a reduction to £19:95 a month for a new 18 month contract (up to 36 mb) which is fine for me as I only get 29 mb anyway

Make sure you ask to speak to a manager straight away as normal sales reps won't give you a reduction

Just say "I wish to make a complaint to a manager as you are charging me more than another person for the same service"

There are different prices for different speeds, all less than £25 per month

This is the standard retentions trick i do with sky every year
Just so others on Talk Talk have something else to price match when they negotiate a new deal, I get unlimited landline calls (be careful cos they try & make this Talk Talk numbers only), & 80mb broadband speed (again they tried sneaking this as 60mb)... 1st month was free, next 3 months £20, then £25 a month after that. Also ensure you get bills sent to your email instead of on paper to your door, saves £2 a time. Do your deal on the live chat so you have a record of it (they send you it via email) and so you can see everything you're paying for. Double check everything. I had this deal offered over the phone by the retentions team when I said I was gonna cancel, but it never progressed so I got it with another member of the team via live chat... She then tried sneakily giving me a worse deal lol. I'm sure others are on better deals but you shouldn't be on anything worse than I am as I've only had 1 negotiation with them.

Do you know if I can keep my landline with the international boost and get broadband with a different company?
£22.45 a month for the 63mb speed on an 18m contract. Check Broadband.co.uk or Uswitch itself. Just renewed my contract.
I left them long time and they are not good at all.
I spent hours on the phone to them a while back to get the internet working, which they couldn’t. Dreadful company - would never use them again. Personal experience/opinion
they were awful when I had them.
Had a few probs with them , started at 36mb and then dropped to 18mb, but everything works fine with that speed so not really bothered, coming to end of contract next month, might stay with them to same the hassle, but more importantly if they give me sky sports for £8.50 a month again.
I'm happy to get 32 MB's and save a fiver a month (just done a test)

Interesting map here which shows what people are actually getting (by area)

London has the quickest speeds and they get slower the further north you go !

I tried on the Retentions number, no joy. Trying on Live Chat, no joy (so far). They're just offering me what I had already - Fibre Medium (36mb) and all day UK calls for £22.50/month.
Talktalk routinely the worst customer satisfaction year on year.

I signed up, they failed to provide all of the services I was paying for. I gave them lots of opportunity to send me the equipment and they routinely failed. I called to cancel because they failed to meet the terms of the contract. They then amended my contract unilaterally, removing the services that they had failed to provide but still charging me the full amount and flatly refused to cancel the contract.

After several calls they still refused to cancel... even the elements which were not locked in and which could be cancelled anytime. They just kept taking the money and not proving the service. Eventually I just cancelled the direct debit and I'm awaiting my day in court to counter claim for a full refund of all of the money that they stole.

I would highly recommend any provider other than Talktalk. They are literally the worst.

Well, that was painful. I aimed high and tried to get the deal Aaargh highlighted above (80mb, all day UK calls, 1st month free, next 3 months £20, then £25 a month).

I currently get "faster broadband" 36mb, all day UK calls = £22.50.

Two phone calls and two Live Chat conversations (one of each a day, as that was all I could stand).

The Live Chat rep yesterday was borderline sniffy with me and said, "my manager will only offer what I've told you already". Went back and forth on the retentions phone number call and gave up in the end.

Was on Live Chat again today and they seemed reluctant to even repeat the £22.50 deal I was on! On the retentions 0800 number I was on for an HOUR and even speaking to the manager (who seemed clueless about the uswitch £19.95 offer) was like pulling teeth.

Eventually we agreed to the (uswitch) £19.95 a month/36mb broadband/unlimited UK calls offer, but it took a lot of waiting on hold and "negotiations with colleagues". The retentions lady seemed quite p'ed off with me by the end of the very long call.

I'd love to know how you managed your great Deal, Aaargh, as that's a good 90 minutes I've waited around today.

I cancelled with them and then a few days later the retention team called me up, I told her what I wanted from a deal, said the speed wasn't fast enough etc and then she offered me that. If I were you I would ring up and cancel this deal (I think you can cancel within 2 or 3 days) and make them come to you.

Challenge accepted (though it may give me a few more grey hairs ). Appreciate you replying, Aaargh.

Hopefully my input has helped, it seems like when they know you're serious about leaving instead of just trying it on etc then they're authorized to give you a better deal. It's unfair that I get a deal that you can't get, point that out. If it doesn't work out then don't stay with a company that doesn't value your custom enough to reward your loyalty with a good deal. I was gonna switch to Virgin and take their 100mb or even faster deals before the retention team swayed me, so they're worth considering. Good luck!
