Just helping a few people out who might be interested in this magazine.
I don't see it coming up in the 5 for 5 deal anywhere lately so this is the best I can find.

I think its a pretty good deal to be 8 pounds per quarter (charged every 3 months via direct debit making it 2.66 an issue, as its normally 12.50 every 3 months.

Price will last for 1 year at 8 pounds everything 3 months - then will adjust to 12.50. But just cancel the direct debit in the last quarter.

This deal is good until the 30th June 2020.

Paper magazines, so very retro !
Can a mod change the title? It's misleading as it reads that you get 8 magazines per quarter, rather than it being £8 per quarter

Great magazine!

Fantastic magazine
is there a similar offer for the print + digital version?
Don't forget 18% Topcashback too
Wasn't the PC engine pretty tiny to begin with?

It's also on readly if you have the app
Also available through PressReader too, I get it via my library for free, might be worth checking if your local council provide this service.
Check your subscription amount.
I did this and it went through as £8 but then updated as £12.50 under the subscriptions. I called them and they said it was only £8 for the first quarter.
Yeah their discounts are usually only for the first payment (ie quarter).
hash back tsb 18%
Honestly, I find the magazine, so-so.. Some months it's great, some months I can flick through it, put it down and that's it.
The recent 200th Issue, with the complete history of games going back to 1960's was amazing, so good I bought an extra copy and sent it a gaming friend in Canada. It's a good deal; my current sub is almost ending, I might cancel and re-sub using this deal instead
I find it just tends to repeat itself afetr a while.. good for a year if you never had it, but if youve had a subscriptuion before, you will prob get repeat articles and reviews.
It says in the mag that it's "a years subscription for half price" - the small print on the page says it's 4 x payments at the stated price, i.e. £8.

It even says it on the buying page for the sub.

Said that on the email I got when I placed the order too.

When the sub appeared on the my favourite magazine site it was down for £12.50 a quarter.

That's when I called and got told about it just being £8 for the first quarter.

Just keep an eye on the price is all.
Neat, I got annual subscription as a Christmas gift few years ago, I just ordered it. Does anyone know how many issues their binders hold?

It's not overly exciting for people my age who read about and played those games in the 80s and 90s, often I don't find much more than a bit of nostalgia trip in those magazines. But for this price you can't go wrong, so have some heat!
Can we cancel after paying the first quarter

Some issues are better than others but always at least a couple of articles of interest even in the weaker issues. Some topics do seem to get recycled from time to time too... similar Mario articles for example. At its worst I'd say it's still a good magazine, at it's best amazing. There's not a lot of choice when it comes to printed gaming magazines these days and this is easily my favourite of those remaining. I do miss the days of C&VG, Mean Machines etc.

Surely you didn't expect a fortnightly magazine?
Voted hot good saving. Agree with other comments, it's great for a year or so then seems to repeat or has articles on obscure games/consoles. Still getting over the shock of playing some classic amiga games recently and realising they weren't as great as I remembered. Think I'll stop telling my console owning son how great the old 8 bit and 16 bit games were - sigh.

Yeah I've only ever gotten it via 6 for £6 or 5 for £5. I made sure 200 was one expecting a cover disc of games but was just a CD. But it's nice for a brief read.
I love RG still, been getting it since the very first issue - I couldn't believe it when I saw a mag dedicated to Retro Gaming! And now it's that period that is considered retro as well now lol.

Even though I could read it as part of our Readly sub every month it's one of the few mags I prefer in my hand so to speak.

Usually go for 5 for a fiver etc deals but just realised I've missed "renewing" for this month, doh.

Anyway, found a 3 for £1 deal still active if anyone fancies that instead - be sure to cancel the DD after the first payment!

TIP: you can start at a later issue, so it's just as well my other half loves RG as much as me - so that's 6 issues for £2.

Some of the other usual suspects available as well:

I remember when this magazine came out, didn't think it'd have a big enough appeal to last. Yet, here we are. Unbelievable!

I agree.
I had subscription few times in the past years.
to be honest they are just repeating themselves for the most part.and some of their content / graphics design is just too boring and could have been much better/more attractive .
that being said it’s the only real Physical magazine (that you can browse and smell!) dedicated to retro video games.(at least in this country),so I always wanted to suppot them regardless, because seeing those covers and graphics alone makes me happy.

The best retro read (at least on paper) now that gamesTM is dead.
Great mag but feels like they've been recycling a lot of the same articles for years now.
Love the mag, it's the ONLY one I read cover to cover.

By definition a lot of the subjects get repeated, but somehow they come up with fresh angles most of the time.

Shame a lot of the more "modern" era has had to creep in, but if it keeps the mag going I'm all for it.
Does anyone know how they are shipped? is it in see through packaging or inside plain envelope? (Can’t remember it’s been a while).
I want them sent to my work address but don’t want everyone see those colourful game magazines sent to me

Transparent plastic wrap, with a single sheet of paper (advertising) on one side.

Spot on - I’m always excited when it arrives and can within minutes determine if it’s a rubbish month or not.
Also worth noting as a subscriber you get different front covers ...minor point but one to consider
Was tempted to sign up using this one myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/rbu…20/
Also quarterly but with mug, tote bag, retro collection book and a mini retro funko

Have you got the original link to that offer? Possibly with pictures of the extra gifts? I assume the funko is an arcade mystery mini. Those are very nice.
