I'd never book one of these super cheap prices with a random company like "fly sharp". I travel a LOT and want to keep the costs down but I still want to be sure of my seat!
I do business trips on weekly basis. Always book from the airline website. I have heard many sad stories about booking from those agents/websites.

I used to book all my flights through flight centre back when they'd price match, so I loved prices like this! Unfortunately they no longer do that

Can I ask what your concerns are? Is it more if there are any issues with the flight and you’d have to deal with the agent rather than the airline?

I’d normally not touch them, however on a recent trip the savings were too much to ignore and I ended booking several flights through agents. The airline reservation codes arrived within a few hours (sometimes instantly) and as far as I was concerned as soon as I can log in to the actual airline website all was well.

Just because one has a booking code with the airline, this does not guarantee anything. If the original booking company goes bust, the entire booking will get cancelled and the airline will not be liable. ATOL helps but is often a b*llache.

Do you think that applies up to the point the money changes hands from the agent to the airline, or the actual flight date? I guess short of asking the agent, there is no real way of knowing when the transaction is actually concluded.

I’m just curious as to what risks I’ve been unknowingly taking on for the sake of £20 !
Check reviews of the agent if price difference is low then I usually get the better reviewed one

Tbh, I'm not entirely sure, but its seems more complex than people think. I've seen people book with the cheaper websites - often at 10-20% cheaper than booking direct. Companies can and often do go bankrupt. If the company has loads of decent reviews, I guess it's probably safe. If i'm travelling alone, I'd probably take the punt (obviously with credit card backup etc). If with family, I would pay extra £50-odd quid for the added peace of mind.

Kindest regards

Why do you insist in spouting this rubbish on virtually every post regarding flights?
Last time you were insisting that flights to LA from London refuelled in Dubai.
Total deluded tosh.

Just pick a couple of the super cheap websites and read the reviews - way too many people having major issues for me to risk saving a couple of quid. There's every chance that you could have no issues, but....

I second this
Just to cut it short, if you are looking for a peace of mind then always book through the airline website

Haven't tried EXPEDIA before (as mentioned, I go stright to the airlines website) a complete peace of mind. It enables me to choose my seat, meal etc...

I sometimes use Expedia and skyscanner for a price reference only.
