BA and SA usually charge £500-700 (As a minimum! Cheapest I've EVER seen is £480) depending on the season. So there probably aren't many Saudi travellers on here but thought it might be of use to someone. They're launching their version of "easyjet" in the UK from beginning of April. Airline itself has been running for 6-7 years. Direct flights, duration between 6-7 hours. Cheapest tickets between April and May.

"Cheapest tickets" (approx. £160) at the moment are for these dates, GATWICK to JEDDAH

Fly out: 22 Apr/29 Apr/ 01 May
Fly back: 01 May/ 06 May/ 27 May

Other dates work out higher (but cheap in comparison). Worth playing around with Manchester dates too.

Luggage allowance is 30kg, which is pretty decent. You can add food (2 meals each way), roughly £20. Prices come up as SAR, but a quick google currency converter sorts that out. I've been told by a friend who lives in Kuwait that they are reliable.

Dates are going quick!

great for Umrah!

I checked just as I was posting. Try again later, it could be that the cheap dates are on reserve as people request them. I've booked 3 tickets myself and the amount gone from my account seem pretty much what I expected. Even at £260, it's still pretty damn cheap.

Need to play about with dates. Prices go up as more bookings are made

Could you make this an Umrah trip? Just need to organise an Umrah visa, accommodation and transfers I would assume?

good to go to Ummrah. can we create s group lol

Book first, then create a group lol There were so many more dates available but they've gone within the last couple of days. Didn't have time otherwise would have posted earlier. Btw a good handbook negates the need for a group, 'Umrah is extremely, extremely simple. Took my dad and sister last year and did it just by reading a short pamphlet.

Yes, can be for Umrah trip. Confirmed this with 2 Umrah Tour operators before booking myself. The only time Saudi has an issue is if the flight stops in Riyadh before going Jeddah (not sure why, it's a new thing).

And yes, Visas are £60 from many travel agents. Transfers average would work out £250-300 if you took a cab (Jeddah-Makkah, Makkah-Madinah, Madinah-Jeddah). Cheaper if you took coach.

For hotels, I'd recommend using booking.com. They have much cheaper prices than any travel agent. But if you really want to save money, find a hotel when you get there and pay approx. £10 a night. Clean, decent enough, 10-15 minute walk away from the two Mosques.

Give in passport, and 2 passport sized photos to travel agent 2-3 weeks before flying out. Visa duration is 30 days to fly out and a further 30 days (need to confirm if it's been reduced to 14) once you arrive.

Jazakallah Khairan. I heard the obtaining visa right now because of the works is more difficult, is this true? I wouldn't want to be in a position where I've booked tickets and I cannot obtain a visa?

I had the same worries but I've been reassured that it's not a problem and that Visas are reduced during Ramadan only. You could confirm with your local agents to double check.

Excellent deal.

tempting deal but cant travel right now

great deal!..i might be wrong but visas to Saudi are free but it's the agents that charge.. then again the only way to apply for a Saudi visa is through an registered agent..so it might be idea to shop around

Thanks for posting. It's important that people book with this airline so that they can stay in business and therefore offer these great low prices. Spread the word - Heat!

I'd chop my hand off to get a deal like thi...........oh wait

Lol

cold as this is date specific and those dates for me convert to £500

Very cheap if you're going on a pilgrimage or work. Wouldn't recommend Saudi as a holiday destination though.

Indeed... one of the worst places I have ever visited. Maybe tied with Northampton.

Vote cold all you want but flight prices ARE date specific. That's just how it works. At the time of posting those dates were coming up for that price. Now it's changed, try other dates.

Non-refundable unless they make a mistake. There is a charge for changing dates and if you cancel, they charge 350 SAR and the ticket amount is in credit for upto a year.

Do the authorities in saudi still give reverts problems when trying to enter mecca?

My passport has my birth name details. I have heard stories of brothers being declined entry.

Laughable considering how the jokers in the house of saud have acted in few decades.

Not sure, the prices fluctuate. Maybe try again in the morning? There are tickets from 29/04-29/05 for £160 but wouldn't be suitable for 'Umrah if the visa duration is now only 14 days..
