This means nothing to me, oh....
I have visited a lot of European cities but just don't get what the attraction is with Vienna. Ok, it is very clean, nice to look at but I found it soulless. Bars/decent eateries I found were non-existant in the city centre, and all the main attractions were so busy you couldn't see anything - and I visited in March. The best part of my trip was the visit to the cemetry - which is a bit weird. The old Jewish area was lovely though - full of nice little cafes and bars which made up for the rest of the main city area, and was only a 10-15 walk away.

Caught the train to Bratislava and that was much nicer - in my opinion of course.

But for that price it is probably worth a visit I guess.
Could I have 2 tickets please...
Certainly sir, 2x 11.24 thats 183 pounds please.

There's loads of cheap cities you can fly to on ryanair at the moment due to being January when no one has any money and it being cold in those locations so not much demand. Vienna is freezing and wet at the minute, so if you enjoy walking about in damp clothing and shoes then go for it. Probably better if you hold off until April- May time when day's are longer and it's a bit warmer.

The Hapsburgs Imperial treasury is quite amazing if you take the time. Also the invincible Flaktürme that seem to be a source of embarrassment.

My thoughts exactly !
I don't know much about Vienna at all, but surely a great deal for a few days away. Always nice to try somewhere new.
wow that's a long city break... price wise is a good deal but date wise is very bad. Nobody goes on holiday from Monday to Friday. There should definitely be slightly higher prices for much better rates.

Great city for coffee and cake
I'm in Vienna right now. It rained yesterday but not too cold at all. No snow! It is a bit soulless for sure but easy to get around (get a week all transport digital ticket) and the galleries are amongst the best I've seen and I've been around at lot worldwide. Most people speak English. You can spend an easy 3 days just doing galleries. Food is pretty boring unless you go our of your way: Schweine and baby Deer. Prices about the same as London.

Glad it wasn't just me finding it soulless. It just didn't have a fun vibe like you get in other cities, which was a shame as it was stunning to look at.

All joking aside, if you have a couple of hours spare then head out to the central cemetry. It is about a 40 minute tram ride which will be covered on your ticket. The big named graves are all in one place, Beethoven, Brahms, Strauss, Schubert etc. Just round the corner is the one used in the aforementioned Ultravox video. The one to check out is the Falco one. Yep - Falco of Rock Me Amadeus fame is dead, and buried here. Also look out for the hamsters - pretty sure they will be hibernating at the moment though.

Last 4 hours tomorrow and short of something to do so I may well: I like a good graveyard ... either that or hunt down some street art to photograph.

If you are looking for photo opportunities it can be quite atmospheric in the right light, depending on the time of day. There was loads of street art if you can call it that along the banks of the canal/river thing - not the Danube - that circles the city to the South and West.
Viennese might get the opportunity to see Liverpool in February mid-week…. Vienna - top city I would recommend!
What a deal, anyone got any decent prices from Manchester?

Bit awkward about flight returns’s timetables?!!

sorry, based the statement on general statistics it's defo an option to travel but not an amazing popular one. If you want cheap and have enough holidays then yeah, it's a good deal.
