Shame it is to Milan, went there before and never again.

Many other places to go in Italy that are a lot better than Milan.
Thankyou for this. We went to Milan last year and loved it loads. The only bad thing was being bitten by mozzies x

totally agree...there is hardly anything good to see there. the place is crawling with underage drinking & smoking (they actually have cigarette vending machines on streets!!). its extremely dirty with cigarette butts all over the floors.
the only good thing about it is that the trains are cheap and you are able to visit nearby countries easily if you wish to do so. definitely go lake como if you go to milan.
Cheers chichi

I've been to Milan twice now and there are spots that aren't great but generally a great city for a short break. For £60 it's a great deal.

I'd agree the San Siro is a bit far out from the center though.

Ca you recommend a good central hotel ?
Of all the great places you can visit in Italy, why would anybody go to Milan? A dirty and expensive city; terrible attitude; nothing to see; totally overrated. Literally pick a random spot in Italy and it would be better than Milan!

Ive stayed at the Ibis Milano Centro/Central. 15 min walk to the Cathedral. The shopping arcade is amazing, walk through within 5 mins though and the cathedral is in the Top 3 buildings I’ve seen.

I did the San Siro tour and went to Inter Milan vs Roma.
You do the small museum, walk into the tunnel, into the changing rooms, side of the pitch and into the club shop. €20 no guide but somebody stood near the pitch if you have any questions.
Went last year - it was a dirty place! Top tip, get the train to lake Como
if you do the san siro museum tour be warned that they don't allow you to take any photos

no i meant the bit inside where they have photos & trophies etc.not the stadium tour.
I took my 10 year old daughter to Milan last May in half term and we absolutely loved it. Went to see da Vinci's Last Super painting, La Scala Theatre and the Dumous all amazing and the weather was fantastic. Would definitely go back again. 😁

I was travelling on a budget but I stayed at Hotel Bolzano near the train station as I was using the train. Everywhere was in walking distance or a short metro. The room was clean albeit a little small, I'd recommend if you're travelling on a lower budget.
