Apparently November is a really good time to go, less touristy, warm sea , sunshine and cooler nights.

We are looking at it now - October is cheaper because it's hurricane season

Egypt / sharm el sheik or teneriffe

Excellent price this. I was actually looking for Cuba holidays last week. I really want to get there before the yanks are allowed in and ruin it.

A communist country.. Well I never

Reads pretty mild to a lot of places

Could be a tad windy..

Which Carry On is it? My favourite is Carry On Camping. Hopefully they play more than one of the films, its a long flight.
I loved Cuba. A beautiful and unique country to visit although some of its 'quirks' may have changed slightly by November given the changes in American policy.

More political prisoners held by the USA on Cuba than by Cuba in their own country.

I felt safer in Cuba last year than I did when I was in Turkey. Don't let the communism put you off! The people are lovely and there is very little crime due to the harsh punishments.

Been Cuba twice, seriously the yanks will ruin it completely. While I would never tell anyone what to do on holiday I couldn't recommend Havana enough. It is a proper smelly, buzzing, jumping fantasic old **** of a city, and the old **** knows how to party.
If you are on the cusp of going just do it, you wont be able to ever catch it this way again.

Oh my goodness, I never knew that was a swear word..... haha

Can you recommend a site for accommodation? The few I've tried aren't showing any availability.

Hope this helps.

Also found a Canadian website that did other hotels (cheaper too). But the above two hotels to me was the best compromise between quality and price : sunwing.ca/

Thanks very much - still making up my mind whether to do this or book a 2 centre package with Havana included. I'm looking to go for 2 weeks, and the flights are around £610 for 2, and the hotel on those dates is showing as around $1500-1600, so around £800 each total. The Holiday Place has some 2 centres trips combining Havana and a Beach stay for around £850 all-inclusive pp, with transfers sorted. Will compare hotel quality before making up my mind! Cheers, Simon

no worries, that sounds amazing, I wish I had that many holidays left to do something similar, happy planning!

Makes me laugh when i read nonsense about human rights abuses etc in Cuba. Yes they are materially poor and have limited opportunties but the people there that ive met are friendly, happy and have something that is sadly lacking here in blighty - class!
Go while you can before the McStarbucks brigade arrive and take over the place

Good time to see Cuba before the Yanks ruin it. Get to Havana if you can!
