I know Argos' jewellery is universally disliked, but it may appeal to someone at this bargain price. Not sure if the RRP of £399.99 is fictional, though!

Went into my store to get my sister the lovely Sterling Silver/CZ Pear Ring mentioned on here, and asked about this!

To my amazement, they had one (you have to ask in-store - the phone reserve service doesn't work). The Q&A says you can call Argos' call centre to find out first, before you travel.

The link shows a picture of a ring box but I didn't get one

I didn't pitch this as fine jewellery, but thanks for your reasoned and articulate comment

Not sure what your problem is, but good luck to you - it's well-known that Argos jewellery isn't highly regarded on HUKD, so I got in there before the haters piped up (but you still mashed your keyboard with your forehead, regardless).

Perhaps "universally disliked" is a clumsy comment to make on my part - but I thought I got my point across. You are the "genius" who said "you listed 'a' (in your words)" when it should actually be "an". So I'd say we're even.

I'd actually like comments from people who were able to successfully buy this ring, and, hopefully, enjoy it! That is the whole point of me posting Deals!

Aww.its beautiful as a wedding ring example, but buy it from a proper shop

You could call it your "training wheels" engagement ring or just enjoy it as it is. We all have different expectations/requirements/budgets. I think it's very nice for £75.
MisterSkinflint4 m ago

Then how were you portraying it? Oh wise one...

Perhaps you missed the comments "I know Argos' jewellery is universally disliked, but it may appeal to someone at this bargain price. Not sure if the RRP of £399.99 is fictional, though" and "Twinkled nicely in the sun (I know the diamonds are hardly top-notch)!"

Shame I have to explain things to people intent on being negative. Enjoy your Sunday!

There is the Argos Stock Checker here checknow.co.uk/sea…918 (give it a minute to search) but I'm not sure if it's accurate for in-store items!

Says The Argos stock check results:- 627 have the item instore & 359 have the item available for reservation.

Another Edit: Here's better pictures in daytime, in the shade. The earlier 1am ones weren't great!

Tried this on in store must admit was stunning beautiful
There's matching Revere 9ct White Gold 0.50ct tw Diamond Halo Earrings argos.co.uk/pro…267 at £99.99
34187009-jr1wg.jpgAnd Revere 9ct White Gold 0.50ct tw Diamond Halo Pendant at £99.99argos.co.uk/pro…153
34187009-eUlXF.jpgThose two say "top historical price £399.99" on Checknow as well...dunno...

Not as much of a bargain as the ring (I had an Argos necklace gifted to me a while back and the chain was very thin - though I can't see anyone moaning about the chain from reviews for this style), but I wonder if these will go down further in price too.

Few available in Edinburgh when I checked.... Fingers crossed 😃
I think it looks lovely....Bargain!
Got one today from sheffield Kilner way , they have just one left in stock
£75 for half a carat of diamonds (albeit i3 grade) is a steal.
Put newer daytime pictures on, above. My Axon 7 camera kinda struggles at night-time, even with the torch function on!

How many "Deals" has MisterSkinflint posted lately or ever? Looks like he's just on here to have a moan. Good luck trolling gimboid! Why doesn't HUKD ban him? 247 heat?

Funnily, in his only posted deal, some kids bike, he states that it isn't the best quality!

Oops
That's the price of a Pandora ring which is silver and cz. Makes this a great buy as a dress ring.
I got this yesterday. It’s really nice for a dress ring. Half a carat for £75 is ok, especially for a dress ring. It’s a steal considering.

Or if someone wanted to buy it for their partner so what. A young couple starting out probably have more things to concentrate on, like a house. It’s a good starter ring. People are such snobs. You can however pay a bit more and get a plated M Kors one with plastic stones. If the Argos name offends you so much.

i know who would be the most foolish though
Heat added, its a nice ring for the price, I think its a bargain and a sell fine jewellery as part of my own buisenss at the moment from my current supplier I wouldn't be able to sell a ring with 0.50ct diamonds in for this price (my items are used) unless I got a really good bargain. Agreed the diamonds I get are usually of a better quality than what Argos probably use but still my point stands.

But after all it is diamond and for £74.99 I fail to see how thats not a good price, not to mention the beauty is in the eye of beholder so if your not to fussed about your diamonds having excellent clarity and colour then you may as well save your self some £'s.
Having just looked at the ring again perhaps I really did get a bargain this week from my supplier, I got a half eternity ring which is 0.50ct but has less stones than this ring, a lot less which can only mean the stones are bigger than what's in this ring. Now you've got me all excited to see my own OP so thank you.
Costume Jewlery.
Nothing says romance like a ring from Argos!. Having said that, it is a pretty ring and would make a nice romanticgift for a young person wth not much money, I’d just put it in a different box.
herrbz1 h, 26 m ago

Agreed. Pity OP is incredibly defensive.

That's the nature of the internet - people saying things that they wouldn't say to your face. It's your opinion and it's MisterSkinflint's opinion, which you're both entitled to.

I'm simply replying to the snippy comments (and to you), but of course that's what negative people want, so I shouldn't take the bait and stay silent.

Do I appear out of nowhere on threads being rude for no reason? No. Because I have manners and because I don't say anything online I wouldn't say in person.

Notice I didn't say much to MisterSkinflint but for some reason he wanted to keep the antagonism going and reappeared days later.

My "defensiveness", as you put it, comes from years of posting Deals and having to put up with idiots trying to be nasty for no reason - PMs, you name it - but this definitely isn't the worst example. I could tell some stories but I'd be going wildly off-topic.

Costume jewellery or not. At least it is GOLD, not silver.
Landfill.
Personally I think it's lovely - thank you for posting & sharing. I've had some stunning jewellery from Argos over the years & still have some pieces bought probably about 30yrs ago still in wonderful condition. Trolls are so overrated.

It's a deal website. Not everyone is going to like your deal. Relax.

Yes, I said that as well The point I'm making is that some people are nasty and try to start fights for no reason - I'm not referring to one specific thread. It's a different vibe to "not liking" something. Anyway, I've said all this already.

I got this ring yesterday and it's lovely in person. You can also get a free Revere ring box which is better than the regular free grey box. My store had an N&O in stock but on stockchecker you can still order MNO if your store doesn't have one stocked in (not always guaranteed but ordering is free and no obligation to buy). Thanks for the post!

Didn't even think of asking for the ring box. The guy who served me was really lovely and super-happy to help so I might ask when I pass by.
“Babe - I’ve bought you this to show you how much I love you”
“That’s beautiful! Where did you get it?”
“Argos”
“...and how much did it cost you?”
“75 quid”

It's very rude to ask someone how much their gift cost I'd be permanently offending people with all my Amazon Warehouse purchases!
I picked mine up. I love it, Louise. Thanks !!

Says £69.99 now, but not sure how many of these are out in the wild!!
£64.99 now!
Says £59.99 on the listing currently, but no idea which stores have this left, if any!
I just sold the last one at my store. Man got it for his teenage daughter for Xmas!
