£5 in Poundland? Same ones or Poundland ones are better?
You can also programme your phone to control these if your phone has an IR blaster
The emitting colour options seem to be warm white or white. Have the colured sold out?
oh thats cool I was looking for a lamp which I can switch off from my bed. thanks!
amazing thing
Got a similar one from Lidl. Some of the colours are woeful, ie they don’t match the colours on the remote
It'll probably explode within the first hour of using it
Can you make it disco?

usually found in cheap stores like b&m for a fiver or less. pretty terrible, very dim (especially if you use colour), bad colours and you need LoS to use remote. you can usually find equally awful ones with bluetooth controls and a built in speaker for not much more than shop price if you really like gimmicks.

Apparently can’t be delivered to Oxfordshire :/
A 25,000 hour lifespan is optimistic.
Have to disagree with a lot of the negative comments. I have a similar bulb although I’m not sure about the wattage, but it’s very bright! And the light is clear too unlike some normal bulbs

I got a smart bulb off amazon for £14, connected to my phone and Alexa. Fantastic, would recommend spending the extra for sure.

When i read your comment i thought you were living in 2006, i thought IR blasters on phones was a thing of the past.. apparently quite a few brands like Huawei have em
Hmmmm.... Let's hope they have the appropriate safety approvals, don't want to invalidate your house insurance!
You need to be really careful with these. Most Aliexpress ship from China and they say they have the ‘CE’ approval mark and they might, but it’s not the proper one and they don’t so much safety testing for EU/UK standards. They can cause electric shocks.

Be careful.

Yeah if it’s switched off!
as a side note, recently bought a couple of cheap-as possible screw converters from an ebay chinese seller and had to get refunds. Just look how thin the metal is and how bad the contact points are - tore under the weight of a standard bulb (flickering and crackling, luckily bulb didn't fall out). Not directly related to this deal but just thought i'd share that - please for your own sake consider how you are actually fitting this kind of bulb to your mains supply. Change the pendant type or get something safe even if it probably costs more than the chinese bulb itself.40954573-A3ITL.jpg

Yeah I was thinking back to my Nokia 3650!
I have used Ali Express for years and at the moment its almost pointless. I am still waiting for items from March. When I complain they just extend the delivery date so I can't get a refund yet. Avoid.

Bomcosy Smart Light Bulb RGBCW WiFi Led Bulb E27 A60 7W 600LM Dimmable Multicolored Lights Compatible with Alexa and Google Home No Hub Required 60W Equivalent 1 Pack amazon.co.uk/dp/…Y40 I’ve got similar one from Amazon. You can check it out.
I would recommend anyone looking for a smart bulb not go for the cheapest one available. 4 W is a paltry amount of light and definitely not suitable for illuminating a room. Also smart led lights often do not have dedicated white leds on board, they simply rely on the red, green and blue leds in combination to make white. While this method means that they approximate "warm" and "cool" whites by decreasing the blue (makes it "warmer"), the combination of spectra emitted is nowhere near what you can get from dedicated white leds.

On the other hand, *this bulb on Amazon is a bit more expensive at £27 but it has two sets of dedicated white leds for both warm and cool light, in addition to the fact it is 1300 lumens of brightness from its 13 W power usage. It's seriously bright. I made the mistake of getting a cheap smart bulb but it made my room so dim, it had to be almost sunset before you could tell the bulb was even on.
