Sad Sunshine this morning, I have just been on the phone to the passport office to see where my daughter's passport renewal is.... they said it's likely going to be another 21 days yet.... we fly in 18

Just tell them "Do u know who I am?" And I am sure many on here will provide references! Or just keep at them every couple of days
Good luck with the passport and i am sure it will sort itself out in enough time fingers crossed

yeah i;ve never had any issue before I usually pop it in the post and away it goes, back within a fortnight.

This time because of the hype (and because I couldnt find my check book and then made a mistake on the pay by card form grrrrr) I decided to go the post office and do check and send. The guy on the phone today actually said, yeah well they are not priority as the post office say at least 3 weeks so they chuck them to the back of the queue. He also said the original delay was due to the government losing passports. He was not very professional and rather negative towards his employers so I am hoping against all hope that he was just being off with me and it turns up soon...

Family holiday in falaraki...ok then!!

Hey kim.

I rang the passport office again on Friday as I was getting a little bit nervous. I spoke to a lady this time who told me that the passport had been received and as in assessment, she said I could pay £40 to upgrade to fast track or wait until next Friday (1 week before travel, and you have to show proof of travel) and get a free upgrade.

Being the cheapskate I am, I did not pay, but over the weekend (Sunday evening at about 7.30pm) I received an email from them as I had gone online to use their track and trace last week saying it was in Peterborough and in the assessment process.

I then decided I needed it so I could check in for my flights so was going to ring up on Monday and Pay the £40.

I was about to ring up when the passport arrived on Monday... I am so glad i did not pay that £40 on Friday (or before the post arrived that day) i would have been fuming!
