Yep, another Ribble road bike deal!

The wheels are slightly worse than the Pro Evo Carbon deal I posted the other week, however the frame is much nicer looking!

Full Spec:
Winter 2015 Ultegra Special Edition

- Ribble Gran Fondo Carbon monocoque Frame and Carbon Forks.
Please note: XS and S frame sizes are out of stock and so are unavailable on this deal.
- Choice of either FULL Shimano 6800 11 speed mechanical groupset or FULL Shimano 6870 Di2 Electronic Groupset (£400 upgrade).
- Pro-Lite Garda 11 Speed wheelset.
- Deda Elementi Handlebars and Stem.
- Continental Ultrasport tyreset.

+£20 for delivery or free collection.

Very nice looking bike! and although the wheels aren't the best they're good enough for winter and actually match the looks of the fondo quite nicely.

Match with some red tyres and I think it would look really nice!

Looks amazing.

No idea how they do these bikes with full Ultegra and full carbon for under a grand... Another good deal OP

I'd always upgrade it to Di2. Just so much nicer. Plus it is rather good value so you could treat yourself with the money saved....

Looks nice, but it's not full ultegra;

Chainset: FSA Gossamer Compact BB386 EVO
Chain: Sram PC1130 Chain
Cassette: Shimano 105 CS-5800 Cassette / 11 Speed / 11-28t
Brakes: FSA Gossamer Pro Brakeset

Still looks ruddy good though!

Agree 100%. Electronic shifting is just fantastic.

Man, I wish I wasn't using all my spare cash to pay off my mortgage! That and I didn't already have 5 bikes.

Cool looking bike, should be able to go through red lights and ride on the pavement with ease.

zzzzzzz...same **** different day.....yawnnn.....bed time now!!!!

For that price I would expect a motor on it !

Bit likes car are just for getting you from a to b , everything else is just ego . Or 4 by 4 Chelsea tractors used by Mothers to negotiate all those mountains on the school run. The OP proves that the Tesco bikes were and are hot for £60 .

He would because you're less flexible with jeans on.

I heard of this thing called wind resistance once, couldn't be sure who told me about it though, maybe it doesn't really exist?

Maybe.
Remember though. If you're ever climbing a steep hill one day on a road bike, and this guy in front of you seems to be climbing much easier, it's because he's wearing less wind resistant underpants and has nothing to do with his fitness, weight, gear he's in or bike/components.

why are you on a deal site If your prepared to waste a grand on a push bike, some people obviously got more cash than sense......

Cheaper than an iPhone 6 contract that gets hot.

And why are you commenting and giving your useless opinion on it then? You'd do well to spend that 'grand' on some grammar lessons...

P.S. we can afford to spend a grand on push bikes because we are on a deal site and are careful with the money we have.

I bought this bike with 105 groupset 2 years ago, I absolutely love it. This price is insanely good!!!

Why on earth do you think it's a waste of a grand? If you are into a certain hobby and you see a good piece of kit at a great price a deal is a deal. I'm not really into cycling but I can appreciate that if others are they'll be interested in this. Pretty stupid to say that some people have more cash than sense just because you're not into their hobby.

So this site has now become poundland - no deals over a pound?

Original Poster

Why are people judging others for spending their cash differently? Who suddenly gave them the right to judge..

If you're able to see my past comments you'd see I voted hot for the £60 Tesco bike.

This is a deal for a different product, that's way under the market average for similar product.

Its not a "waste" if it gets used and loved!

A deal doesn't have to be on cheap rubbish, it can be on premium products as well. A saving is a saving.

Shame about some of the comments on here, what a price! Nice find

Or then again you could buy a new car and lose a grand within the first minute of driving out the showroom...

And don't forget vehicle excise duty/insurance and maintenance. The car vs bicycle thing is annoying and is dangerous.

Amazing deal

The £400 extra for Di2 is making this almost too hard to resist, n+1 is a disease

Sorry but of someone wants to spend 1k on a bike that's gunna get them out and about and keep fit and put less strain on the n.h.s then I say good on them.Wish I was fit enough to power it.Or you could waste that on an iPhone 6 deal and sit in front of the tv doing nothing wasting away.Ill let you choose.I know what I'd do given that money.

+1 for Di2
£1400 is a stonking price.

It's good value for those that appreciate a decent bicycle at an entry level price. It absolutely should be on HUKD. As should the 12p tin of beans, £55k Aston Martin for £1000 pcm, 1p feather duster from Poundland, or £1200 IPhone6 Plus (over 24 months). They all have a place here.

Inverted snobbery or ignorance does not.

yawn

It's just envy and jealousy plain and simple. Just because one person can't afford it doesn't mean the rest can't, they earnt it so can spend it on what they wish to!

Just like you can spend 9p on a toothbrush whenever you want.

Pointless comments about why would you spend a grand on a bike,
I spent slightly more on a bike last year to cycle to work
I decided with the cost of petrol plus health gains i would ditch my car and cycle the 30 miles instead each day,
I estimate ive saved more already than i paid for the bike in petrol costs and have even cancelled my gym membership as i am in the best shape i have been,
If im going to be cycling 30 miles each day i dont want to be doing it on a £199 budget bike ,
You get what you pay for

hotukdeals.com/dea…985 might as pair it up with a new garmin, cadence sensor and hrm.

For many people it's their hobby and some people are semi pro riders. For them this is a deal. For me I want a decent bike and paying this much is not justifiable for myself, as I'm just riding to work, so paying £300 or so is the right amount for me, however that doesn't negate that it's a decent deal for people who understand it and require a bike of this value.

You could argue this position on everything really, why buy a £2000 Alienware laptop, you can get a laptop for £300. Yes and they both can't do the same thing. Why buy a BMW 3 series when a Mondeo is cheaper etc etc.

Super deal, never thought anything would match last years £900 Planet X pro carbon ultegra, should have waited, never mind, just have to churn out the miles and wear it out, as regards a £1000 bike not being a bargain..... Only in peasantville!!!

great deal but just a shame that there are no options to upgrade saddle, tyres and more wheel options....recommend that any purchaser upgrades to a carbon seatpost.

nathb never derided the clearance Tesco value bike deals but I think some of the comments on here are the inevitable response after the massive downder being posted on those by others who think they are 'being helpful'.

This isn't what I'd want for my daily commute on city centre roads, battered by potholes with cars pulling out on me all the time, or for getting the food shop in at Morrisons, and I'd not want to park it out in public - but I'm not it's target audience. So no cold vote from me. Those road users who despise cyclists must be having a good laugh.

I'll consider it if they chuck some pedals otherwise I'll have to carry it home.
